1) What's the best/easiest way to take a toddler's temperature? DS was sick this weekend and sticking the digital in his arm takes WAAAAY too long (his screaming tantrum probably adds 1 degree to the reading).
2) Should I get a booster seat or something? DS will not sit in his high chair to eat. It's come to the point where he wants to be on our laps, in a real chair alone, or we just chase him down and put food in his mouth while he's playing. He's such a bad eater. HELP!
3) DS is 17 months - is this the time separation anxiety sets in again or mommy preference? IDK if it was his sickness but he was pretty clingy at times.

It's worth a shot. We have the same issue with AJ. He does okay at home, but was horrible in the HC at my parents when we'd go over for dinner until they picked up a cheap booster seat. HC at a restaurant is flat out refused, and half the time a booster is too so he ends up sitting on either my or J's lap or on the chair next to one of us. If we're at a cookout somewhere I aim for getting him to eat at least half to two thirds of his meal sitting down and then will let him go play and come back for bites but that BS doesn't fly at home, my parents' (we go over there for dinner once a week) or restaurants.
We had B in the fp healthy care booster from the beginning, but he was eating pulled up to the table (no tray) before 18 months. He went through a phase of wanting to be on our laps when he was having separation anxiety, but that was short lived. He's always been a good eater though, so my laid back smugness might be misplaced, lol.
We have that FP chair too, but he won't abide having it pulled up to the table. UGH. He's such a difficult eater, I couldn't believe it could get worse.
I'll try a soft booster- maybe I'll get a deal on prime next week.
When could your kid bite off pieces of food? DD is almost 9 months and does great with bite-sized table food, but if I give her anything bigger she either refuses to touch it or she just kind of sucks on it.
nessness DD1 kind of gummed larger pieces of table food for a while. I think it takes a bit of coordination to figure out chewing.
DD2 will be 4 weeks tomorrow. Can I start pumping to build a stash? Was thinking of starting with just 3 days a week when DD1 1 hour after her morning feed?

2) Try the booster. Our DS is not the best eater, either. When he was 16 months we bought a little IKEA table and chairs and just let him roam and play and come back to the table for bites, hoping it would reduce the highchair tantrums and food throwing. He will rarely sit down for dinner, though he will for breakfast. I do want to try the booster again at some point. He still throws food
3) No idea. DS (21 most) is clingy in certain moments, but hasn't really gone through clingy phases.
1) when did you get back into your prepregnancy clothes, if ever? I'm getting close, but all my tops are still too tight across my belly. I'm sick of wearing maternity clothes but don't really want to buy larger clothes if I can avoid it.
2) did you have to resize your rings? Still can't wear mine and it makes me sad.
3) Breastmilk: if you keep it in the fridge for 2-3 days, can you still freeze it? Or should I just feed it to her? I forgot to freeze it same day.
I have so many more but can't remember them right now!

You can freeze. I've had it in fridge for 4 days before I froze it.

It depends a lot on the food . Things that are already sort of crumbly, like meatballs, crumbly muffins, or various kinds of mexican food, worked better early on. But it might take another month or two.

1. I think you're being hard on yourself. I'm 9 months out and I'm still not back into everything (at least not comfortably), but more and more fits every month. My hips are still shifting back, my breasts are getting smaller again, etc.
I posted a thread on ML a while back about not wanting to buy bigger clothes and everyone encouraged me to do it. I will encourage you to do the same. Just one pair of nicely-fitting jeans made a huge difference in how I felt.
2. Keep waiting on these too. When I asked, I was told to wait AT LEAST a year. I think the media really, really distorts our view of how quickly the majority of people "bounce back"
3. LLL says you can "stack" how long milk is good. It can be good for a few hours room temp, THEN a few hours in the fridge, THEN a few months in the freezer. You're fine!
Thanks! I mostly just feel guilty spending more money on clothes. I've spent so much on maternity and breastfeeding stuff! Just seems like I'm spending so much! But I hope to breastfeed for a while so I probably need nursing tops anyway. I've been living in 2 outfits for the past month!

1. Temporal one or we have a Vicks quick read one that is super fast. 2. Ds pulled the same thing at that age and refused even a booster so he has been sitting in a regular chair or at his little table since. Or the kitchen helper. He's happy to stand in that and eat at the counter. 3. Yes, this age is a prime separation anxiety age.
noodleoo, ditto RexManningDay. I resisted buying new clothes for a while but came to the realization that even if I do lose the rest of the baby weight plus the 10 extra lbs I was carrying before I got pregnant, my body is just shaped differently now so chances are things won't fit the same regardless. Buying a few inexpensive items that fit well made a huge difference in how I felt
Do we have to buy a high chair? Or can we skip rot to booster once baby is sitting up?
I'd still stick with a high chair for a while because they'll still need more support than a booster would give. If space is an issue, the Fisher Price space saver HC is pretty decent.
At 9 months, how much should I be pushing vegetables?
She mowed them all down for 2.5 months, but now she wants nothing to do with them (except occasional piece that she feeds herself). Just keep offering different things, right?
We have the same issues. The only veggies she will feed herself are sweet potato and avocado. Now I mix little bits of veggies in things and do a combo of spoon feeding/ her eating herself. This morning I mixed spinach in her eggs and she ate it with her fingers. I just made some cauliflower Mac n cheese that I will probably spoon feed. I am not sure how important it really is, but it makes me feel better when she gets se veggies in!
If you started with purees, when did you move on to bite sized pieces of table food? DS has been on solids for a couple of months, but still seems to gag on thicker purees.

We started with puffs at 7 months, and once she was actually mashing those instead of just letting them dissolve in her mouth (which was only a few days) we added in some other soft foods.
Were 4 months shots similar to 2 months shots as far as your child's reaction? DD got sick after her 2 month shots, so I'm trying to prepare myself. Do you give tylenol before shots? We gave DD some a few hours after last time and she threw it up, so I don't know if trying it before would be better.
DD was miserable after her 2-month shots but the 4-month ones weren't bad at all. She cried for like a minute and was normal the rest of the day.
Don't give Tylenol unless you need to; apparently it makes the vaccines less effective.

Mine are almost 9 months and have zero interest in anything but purees. I haven't tried thicker ones in awhile since they gagged on them before. I feel like they'll be eating purees forever :^)

4 and 6 month shots have been a breeze. They cried when they got the shot but stopped pretty fast and weren't fussy the rest of the day. I wouldn't give tylenol before. Wait to see how she is after.

Muddled, we had a dining room set and a pub table, and we still ate 99% of our meals on the couch. We fail at being grown ups.
If your kid screamed through every single diaper change as though being murdered, when did it stop? B loses. His. Shit. every single time, and it's maddening. Especially in the middle of the night. (Though bonus- it does get me from half awake to wide awake, yay.)
