So we finally started watching The Wire and naturally I looked on IMDB to see what else everyone I recognize has been in, etc. and was surprised to learn the main dude is British.
How come British people do such believable American accents (even regional ones!) and we are so awful at doing British accents?
We just started too. About 10 years behind, but we finally started. I can't keep everything straight. In my postpartum haze, it's really too complicated for me. But I'm trying to keep up.
That shocks me! I had to look it up. DH got all paranoid about me googling it - "you're going to spoil it!" I'm pretty sure googling the guy that plays Mcnulty is not going to spoil the entire show.
It is on my list to watch next but it sounds like it maybe too complicated for me. I can't stand true detectives even though H loves it because I have NO FREAKING clue what is going on!
@mrswindycity I am always floored by those that can do such great American accents like the Hugh Lorey (House) or the guy who was on Sisters and Brothers and now on The Americans. I had no idea until I see them on some talk show or sound bite.
