How about closing doors? If I dare to step out onto the patio for even a minute, DS comes along, slams the patio door shut, locks it, and puts the wooden dowel into the track. Then I have to stand out there miming at him like a monkey to get him to let me back in.

I have a few. Apparently my high from last night's awesome date night is quickly fading.
- My car is in the shop. It started making a really awful noise and clunking along and smelled terrible when I was picking the kids up from my parents'. I have no idea what is wrong with it, but I thought upgrading to a nice new car was supposed to avoid these clunker problems.
- Since my car died at my parents' house, we had to hang out there all morning, and into the afternoon. After having the kids for us all night, my mom was all eye rolls and loud sighs that we had to stay unexpectedly longer and "I wasn't expecting this to be a 24 hour playdate." Dude, I'm sorry my car became unsafe to drive and we had to stay put to sort it all out. And, I took the kids out for a walk while waiting for the tow truck and then to the playground and lunch before getting a ride home, so it's not like they were unattended and underfoot for that time. I need to stop taking her up on her offers to babysit because she then gets all woe is me and put out by the whole thing.
- I posted about the guns at my inlaws' before, but they are becoming a problem again and need to come out of the house. DH is taking that on this weekend, and it is going to be really, really bad. Like he's risking whatever relationship he still has with his dad to keep them safe. He's not saying much about it, but I know this has to be killing him.

As of February, I've considered myself an atheist. There are atheist congregations called "humanist" that function like churches. I am going to join one.

What do you do at athiest church.
They do volunteer projects, donate things to charity, have family nights to play game, organize picnics, have book groups, bring food to someone who is sick or has a baby. It isn't a church, it is a congregation, so you get the same feeling of community without the religious aspects.

I think they also have lectures and talks on philosophy, life, etc.
My tool of a BIL isn't spending the night again with his wife who had the emergency c section yesterday. They have a 35 year old, and I know she needs things, too, but my MIL was more than happy to keep her overnight or sleep at their house. He went home last night & by the time my H got there today to visit, around 6, he was gone for the day already.
This is weird, right, it's not just me? If it was an uncomplicated vaginal birth, I wouldn't care as much. But their baby could have died yesterday (prolapsed cord). He missed the emergency csection, too.

I already dislike him, this is not helping.
How old are they if they have a 35 year old?! maybe the older child is having trouble adjusting.
haha, 3.5 I don't see how they'd know she was going to have trouble adjusting ahead of time. He went home, brought her for a visit and then didn't come back yesterday.
Though, I wouldn't be surprised if they did not do good job at preparing her for what what be happening.

So all the stuff I like about church without the zombie Jesus part

Lala, that is awful. I know the nurses are there to help in the hospital, but not to the extent that a spouse would be. And she must be a wreck after possibly losing the baby, emergency surgery, and then normal pp hormones. I hope he is more help when she gets home.
It's my husband's sister's husband. We always hoped they'd break up. Then we hoped they wouldn't have kids or they'd get divorced (I know that sounds awful). He has legitimate issues that he has never fully dealt with and it impacts most areas of his life.

I so wish we had one of those here. I would be all over that.
