Thanks, everyone! matildasun and @roseyposey, did your DDs walk with the injured leg before the cast came off? The doctor seemed to think that would be a possibility. I'm not encouraging her to do so, but if it happened on its own, I wouldn't complain (carrying around 30+ lbs of toddler and cast while 8 months pregnant is no picnic!).

DD had the full cast for 4 weeks, then had one that only came up to her knee for the last week or so. She never figured out how to walk on it with the full cast, but could with the smaller one.
If i remember correctly, matildasun's DD could walk on the full cast really quick.

I'm continuing to go to the OB every week to check on my blood platelet count and blood pressure. Today is my blood draw and tomorrow is my blood pressure/urine sample check with the OB. I'll be 34 weeks tomorrow and with my previous two pregnancies my blood pressure has started to rise at 35 weeks, so I'm still just in limbo at this point.
Our countertops will be installed on Thursday! Plumber should be in on Friday, and then we'll have a fully usable kitchen again! The insurance company, however, still hasn't figured out how much they'll reimburse us for the countertops. So, it's win some, lose some.
Mom is ... I dunno, it feels like she's doing a little worse. Her energy levels seem to be down. Her medications changed a little and the side effects left her in bed almost the whole day several times last week. She needs more help with stuff around the house. She's cooking less and not always staying up through dinner. She still buys stuff we don't need. Since she wants to be helpful and is running out of things, her latest offers to help involve driving us around, which isn't really all that helpful -- we do just fine on buses and bicycles. I really need to help her find things to do, especially where she can meet people her own age, but she's so limited physically that it's hard for me to come up with anything. We are still queued up for senior housing but there's been no update there. Probably another 4-10 months.

A was walking on her cast by day three. The cast had her on her toes on that foot, so she was a little wobbly, but she figured out how to hobble around.
I did have to carry her up and down the stairs until she was put in shorter cast.
We put her back in the stroller and/or wore her when we were out and about.
Thanks, @roseyposey and matildasun! DD's cast comes up to mid-thigh, so I wonder how well she will be able to maneuver it to walk, but she was trying to pull herself up to a standing position to get on the couch on Sunday...
We've probably gotten more use out of our stroller in the past 1.5 weeks than the last 2.5 years combined...
I posted Sunday about E's fever. We took him in and his fever was over 103 when we got there and red spots everywhere. They did all sorts of tests but everything was negative. Good, but I wish I knew what it was. Once the Tylenol kicked in he was doing a lot better. A little fussy yesterday and still had some red spots. I assume they are leftover from the fever. The doctor didn't seem worried so I won't worry too much. Hasn't had a fever again though since it went down!
Glad he is feeling better! Did they test for strep?
My dad had his PET scan today and although the oncologist still needs to look at it, the results were very promising. The tech didn't see any spreading of his cancer which is amazing considering the size and state of his tumor.
On the job front I'm still pretty unhappy but treading water. I really hope things look up but I only have 2 1/2 months till #2 is born and then we'll see from there. Ideally I would stick it out for 3 years so there's not a red flag in my resume but who knows.
pinotgrig What happened with the cyst? I can DD if you want.
Thanks for asking! My bloodwork came back normal for markers for ovarian cancer, fibroids, and endo so that was good. All the docs who looked at the u/s pics tens to think it's a blood filled cyst and the bloodwork seems to confirm that.
Now I just wait for my next appt in 4 weeks to see if it's shrunk/gone away. Hopefully it has, but if not I think they may have to remove it surgically.
DS had his eye appointment today, no issues there! I think the PT was just overly cautious. His walking is improving, but he's still not talking too much.
I think I have AWed this 18x, but we scrapped the plans to buy a new build townhouse and found a nice 30 year old single family home. Our current house is on the market and we should move in September. I think the term forever home is silly, but this might be ours.
Thanks for posting this. I remember the townhouse post, then I saw a post where you asked about moving and 2yo and I got really confused because I thought you weren't moving.

They did and it was negative. The only thing they saw with the swab, blood test, urine test and chest xray (I didn't think this was all needed but I guess they didn't want to miss anything) was that his white blood cell count was elevated but that makes sense with a fever. He was fighting something off, we just don't know what exactly!

That happened to DS once. Daycare told me it was probably a random 24 hour virus. Sure enough, it was gone a day or two later. I never took him to the doctor.

I probably didn't need to take him in but the fever kept going up and he had all those red spots so I was worried about it! Oh well! Better safe than sorry I suppose!
I have a stupid cooking update. But it may help other dairy free people. I posted several weeks ago to ask if I could sub coconut milk yogurt for regular yogurt in recipes.
I tried it out with a Greek chicken recipe and it worked great. You couldn't even notice a difference. I used the unsweetened rather than plain So Delicious brand because the plain is sweetened and I was worried about it being too sweet.
I'm going to try with a tandoori chicken recipe next.
Update on me + zoloft: I've been on 50 mg for about a month and might go up to 75 after I'm back from work training next week (could do it early next week, but I had weird hot flashes and headaches when I went on and don't want to do that while learning new software). I'm feeling quite a lot better and am really happy I decided to go with drugs as part of the solution.
Still adjusting to being Officially Depressed, though. It's weird.
Hugs! I've recently been struggling with admitting I'll probably be on ADs for the rest of my life - it's hard
Update on my kid's reflux -- The meds are definitely working. He's gained one pound in just under 2 weeks. He's so much less fussy than before. It's like night and day. He doesn't scream on every car ride. He's way more chatty than he was before. He's also eating a ton at daycare. Mixing bottles of BM and formula and he's taking them well.
Definitely an improvement.
Sleep still sucks. A lot.
How long did it take to see improvement? We just started meds on Friday.

It was much easier to accept I'll be on synthroid forever. I know I shouldn't stigmatize *myself* for needing another medication for another condition, but it's still kind of hard to accept.
How was the rest of your dad and sisters trip down here?
Boring - what is there to do when it's too hot to go outside and one person can't see anything and the other doesn't want to do anything? My dad kept on with his racist, homophobic stuff. However, the silver lining of not being able to see is that he no longer watches Fox News constantly. Thus, I was only subjected to Puerto Rican politics, which IDGAF about, therefore I could not really get upset.
My half sister is 15 and just wanted to text/skype her friends. I tried to take her for a pedicure, but she said no. Eventually, I took her to see Trainwreck, which was a bit awkward. Oops. I tried to give her some college/career wisdom while driving home from the liquor store, too. I'm such a great big half-sister!
But I'm glad my dad got to see my son before he went completely blind (not guaranteed, he is still getting surgery on his one good eye so it could get better or worse), and it was nice that he got to hang out with DH a bit. I think the only time he'd seen him before this was the wedding.
I'm glad he got to see DS and that Fox News wasn't on .
I will update about my TTC situation. (I've had 4 early miscarriages since last summer; the last one being this past March). We stopped TTC #2 since the last m/c. I had my first RE appt in May and had just about everything under the sun tested. And every single thing has come back normal. Yay??
So basically, my RE wants us to try again when I'm ready. However, I just recently accepted a new job. I work in healthcare, and currently work two 12-hour shifts a week. But my new job is going to be in a clinic setting, and will be a regular 40 hour work week, which I am looking forward to. (No more weekends or holidays!) However, because of this, I think we are not going to TTC again for at least a few months, so I would potentially be at my new job for a year before maternity leave, if I make it that far in a pregnancy.
We found out on Friday that C's tumor has "favorable histology" -- so that, combined with the size of the tumor, and no metastasis, means that he DOESN'T NEED CHEMO!!!! He'll be monitored pretty closely for a while (not sure how long -- maybe a few years?) to make sure the tumor doesn't come back. This is really the best possible outcome for a Wilms' tumor.
C has been back to daycare for a few days, and is doing REALLY well :-) We're trying to change his PCM to the same medical group that is doing his oncology, and trying to get his PT and ST transferred to the same group so everything is under one roof. And oh, by the way, that "roof" is like 2 minutes from our house, and 2 minutes from his daycare. The doctors are AMAZING, and we're really pleased with how everything is going :-)

@pennypie - I remember seeing that improvement with ds which was a huge huge relief. I'm glad it's getting better.
one of the things ds' pedi noted was that if ds' sleep was crap at night, it was likely due to the reflux still not being completely under control. I don't know how much I believe that since sime babies are just crap sleepers, but we did adjust ds' meds and added gaviscon at night and he then started sttn.
