I am very annoyed when people, instead of asking me a question, assume something and then make a statement. And then I have to say, "no, actually X."
e.g. Them: "So you grew up in Maryland." Me: "No, I'm from Pennsylvania originally." Them: "Oh, so you're a Steelers fan!" Me: "No, I never paid attention to sports until after I got married." Them: "Ah, G made you watch with him then." Me: "No, blah blah blah STOP IT."
Clearly I am enigmatic and unknowable and stop trying to pretend you understand my deep and variable psyche, dude. lol

Why don't we just draw conclusions from the little data we have. And while we're at it, we might as well draw conclusions based entirely on stereotypes.
