We had it in 8th and 10th grade. There was lots on STDs and abstinence. Both were a get out of class and go to this for an hour kind of thing. Basically short scare courses.
I went to public school and we had sex Ed in grade 6, and that was it. I don't remember much about it other then they went over both abstinence as well as condoms.

In 5th grade we did separate classes on puberty, so we learned about periods and stuff. I think it was 6th or 7th grade we learned about STDs and other things. 9th grade was when we got more in depth about contraception and everything and watched that video with the lady giving birth.
We had a puberty class in 5th grade where they separated boys and girls. We had a health class in 6th or 7th grade, but I don't remember specifics of what we learned.

Pretty sure in elementary school we had separate boy/girl lessons on puberty and hygiene. In 6th or 7th grade we had sex ed with lessons on condoms and choosing to be abstinent. I don't recall it being totally abstinence focused though.
Honestly, I picked up most of what I knew as a teen from some ahead of the game girl friends in 7th and 8th grade. I was pretty clueless and just played along most of the time.
I was homeschooled. At age 8 my mom explained periods to me. At age 10 my parents both sat me down and explained sex in pretty raw detail. They had a book that showed sperm and eggs under a microscope, and drawings of naked bodies. It was awkward to have my dad there, but I'm glad they were so blunt. A lot of homeschoolers don't get that.
We learned about birth control and stds when we were a little older in general family conversations.
I remember in 5th grade we learned about puberty in separate boy/girl groups. Im 8th grade health class we learned about condoms, birth control, STD's, etc. I remember them saying abstinence was the only 100% effective method of preventing pregnancy and STD's, but they still talked about other options. We definitely watched a video of giving birth too.
Hmm... My first talk was when I was 13 at home with my mother when I got my period. I never got a sex talk from them though. First "real" lesson was in 11th grade at a STD lecture that the whole school had to go to. *shudders* remembering how repulsive they all looked in photos... Other than that. Nothing!

Back in the Stone Age when I was in elementary 7-8 grade we had health/sex ed. It was very comprehensive, we were taught and shown how to use a condom (on a banana ), we were taught about STDs and that abstinence was the best option. We were taught how to say no and that NO means NO.
They stopped the classes the year after I moved up to high school and 4 girls that year got pregnant.
