LaGuardia Airport to be torn down and rebuilt, Cuomo announces
NEW YORK (AP) — Gov. Andrew Cuomo has introduced a plan to redesign and rebuild LaGuardia airport.
The airport in Queens is one of the busiest in the nation, but is cramped and outdated. Vice President Joe Biden last year dubbed it a “Third World country.” He was at the announcement Monday.
Cuomo says the first part of the plan will begin next year and will cost $4 billion. He says Delta Air Lines is a partner in the new terminal. He says approvals that would normally take years were expedited by the vice president’s office.
Cuomo says it will be the first new airport built after the Sept. 11 attacks. The new airport will be constructed closer to the Grand Central Parkway, creating more than double the space.
Snap, son. @koko, maybe the governor saw your post?

Well at least Joe used his power for good. Hope y'all get escalators. (Local joke - they redid the Amtrak station that he used all the time as a senator, and they only put in one escalator. Not one each way, one total. So you can go up, but not down. You get to carry your luggage down a flight of steps.)
Amen! That place is worse then the Port Authority Bus Depot. The delta terminal is much nicer since it was redone so hopefully they can really get the rest if that dump fixed.
