P makes this motion with her mouth-just wondering if it's normal? She's done it a few times, she's moving her mouth but making no sound. She does make plenty of other sounds (coos, giggles, etc). Pdq the link.
DD is flying to Seattle with me on Thursday, and my mom is flying her home next Tuesday (I'm coming back on Sunday). Will she need anything to fly with DD?

Yes, most likely. I needed a notarized letter from both bio parents to fly with my step son.
Does anyone have a toddler who bites their nails? Our doctor said to ignore the behavior and hope she moves onto a new one. I keep her nails trimmed, but it doesn't seem to help.
OK second question - Piper just woke up about an hour after bedtime. Sudden, very loud crying. I picked her up and she was flailing and her eyes were pressed tightly shut. Took a minute or so for H to wake her up with his deep voice, once she did she just blinked a few times and mostly fell asleep in his arms. She's sleeping now.
Does anyone have a baby that sucked on their hand/fist a lot? Is he destined to be a thumb sucker?
DD's hands were always in her mouth as an infant, but stopped after a few months. She is neither a thumb sucker or pacifier kid. She didn't have any ability to self soothe for a long time. Then her hair finally grew and she plays with that when she relaxes.

DD is 4mo and has constantly had her hands and/or fist in her mouth since she discovered them at like 6 weeks old. No thumb sucking yet. It's very different for me because DS took a paci. DD does not, she spits them out as if I had given her a jalapeño pepper or something.

DS does, he's 3.5yo. Whenever he starts biting we move his hand out of his mouth and say "don't bite your nails." One time he bit them too low and they hurt, so we remind him of that frequently. "Don't bite your nails, it makes them hurt." The nail biting peaked around 3yo and seems to be waning now.

This is totally my fear. He also plays with his hair!!! I fear an inability to self soothe!!!

Could be.
My son occasionally gets night terrors but it's not that easy to wake him (I don't try, I just did the first time before I knew he had night terrors)
ETA: you are supposed to try to wake them during night terrors because it scares them/confuses them and something else. If it happens again another night and you can't easily wake her just hold her and speak softly to reassure her. My sons usually last about 5 minutes

We just started giving E oatmeal a week ago and tried some banana over the weekend. He did great with it! How often can/should I introduce new foods? I know not to mix things at first to watch for allergies but how long do you wait in between new foods?
Also, we are leaving Wed to go on vacation until Sat. I think we might bring the oatmeal and maybe look for a banana or something to mash up for him to eat, but if we don't, is it fine to just give him bottles while we're gone and no solids? I assume so since he's still pretty young but maybe I'm missing something, haha. E is 5 months and a week if you can't see my siggy

Dd is 9 months and we still miss solids sometimes if we are out and about. I do offer her an extra bottle in place of her missed snack, but sometimes she even declines that. At your child's age, he is probably not intaking enough to even notice a missed meal .
our pedi told us to wait for 3-4 exposures to a new food before moving to the next. Reactions don't typically show up the first time they try a food. We ended up sticking to the 4 days because she has had several allergies pop up. It feels like for-ever in the beginning before being able to introduce something new. Lots of moms are more lax in this and just feed whatever, but our DD ended up with a reaction to oatmeal, which was her first food lol. Do what you are comfortable with!

DS is 15 months old and has 3 solid words and 3 solid signs. When looking at meeting milestones, do signs count as words? Is the verbal development about the desire to communicate rather than forming the words?
1. I know its been asked a million times but when does pp shedding stop? Im shocked how much hair I have lost. I'm 5 months pp and no end in sight. Ugh I dread washing my hair.
2. Poor dd has a baby bald spot. She has moved to the crib from the RNP and now sleeps on her tummy. Will it grow back soon? I know it will eventually but it looks terrible and makes her slightly flat spot look even worse. She is rocking a baby comb over lately

My guess would be teething pain.
Could be. She's been showing other teething signs. Chewing on everything and preferably hard cold things.

That's normal, it's just that their brains/systems aren't really good at stuff yet, lol. C did it all the time (still sleep cries at times). They're asleep, but it sounds very scary.
It's probably not a nightmare at her age.
It was really scary!! Glad to know its normal. Ish.

1. Mine stopped around 5.5-6 months I think.
2. DD's bald spot took about 2-3 months to fully grow in after she started sleeping on her tummy, but she has long hair; it may be faster if your baby has short hair.
