I just scrolled through the rest of the article. All those pictures, all those beautiful dead animals and that fucking jackass smiling. OMG I hate him.

Oh yeah , guess what. You didn't actually kill the lion or any of those other animals with your stupid bow and arrow. Like a bow could take out a rhino? Ha. You fucking wounded it slightly and your guides actually killed the animal with a rifle.
The father of two had, according to the paper, killed all but one of the animals listed in records produced by bow hunting group Pope and Young. The animals on the list include polar bears, bison, grizzly bears and cougars.
"Of course, it is a personal achievement to harvest any big-game animal with a bow and arrow," said Glen Hisey, the curator of the Pope and Young records programme. "It is a way of honouring that animal for all time."
"Why would you ruin perfectly good peanuts by adding candy corn? That's like saying hey, I have these awesome nachos, guess I better add some dryer lint." - Nonny
1- LionAid stated, "whatever his nationality, this man cannot really be prosecuted. A client does what his professional hunter tells him. A client usually has no idea about the laws and regulations of the country he is hunting in - he just buys a safari and then places himself in the hands of his professional hunter guide.
BULL- fucking -SHIT that they don't know the laws.
2 - A spokesman for Palmer told The Guardian that Palmer believes he may have shot the lion. "What he'll tell you is that he had the proper legal permits and he had hired several professional guides, so he's not denying that he may be the person who shot this lion," Palmer's spokesman told The Guardian in a statement.
Is he really THAT clueless? People are outraged that this happened, period. The legality of it really isn't the main issue here!!! JFC.

So, ignorance of the law is a defense here? Bullshit. No. Was it illegal to kill Cecil? Yes? Then let them have this douche canoe. Lord knows we don't want him.
World Lion Day is coming up in a few weeks, which is a good opportunity to support conservation efforts. I will never understand the motivation behind big game hunting, so incredibly cruel.
The following statement was issued by Eden Prairie dentist Walter Palmer on Tuesday regarding the allegations that he illegally killed a beloved lion in Zimbabwe on July 1.
Statement of Dr. Walter Palmer
July 28, 2015
"In early July, I was in Zimbabwe on a bow hunting trip for big game. I hired several professional guides and they secured all proper permits. To my knowledge, everything about this trip was legal and properly handled and conducted.
"I had no idea that the lion I took was a known, local favorite, was collared and part of a study until the end of the hunt. I relied on the expertise of my local professional guides to ensure a legal hunt.
"I have not been contacted by authorities in Zimbabwe or in the U.S. about this situation, but will assist them in any inquiries they may have.
"Again, I deeply regret that my pursuit of an activity I love and practice responsibly and legally resulted in the taking of this lion."
He loves killing animals just for the sake of killing them? Fuck this guy. Hard. With a fucking rusty chainsaw.

This kills me! he doesn't GET IT. Yes, the legality of it is an issue too, but that's not REALLY THE ISSUE here!!! KILLING ANIMALS is an activity that he "loves and practices". JFC.
THAT is the fucking issue, ass wipe. Not that it was illegal. Well, you all KWIM.
Plus, these men hide behind their "professional" guides. As long as they have these guides "telling" them what to do, they can claim "Oh golly gosh darn - I had no idea what I was doing was wrong!".
I will never understand how people find enjoyment out of big game killing. You are killing an animal for no other reason than to stroke your ego. Fuck your ego.
I really seriously can not get past this. Killing innocent animals is something he loves and does "responsibly". I just do.not.get.it. I realize I'm preaching to the choir but man... I just can't.

Well, if that is the case, then I would ASSume, as someone who is "responsible", he has educated himself on the area where he "hunts". Fuck, it isn't even hunting. I live in the middle of hunting and most people here would shank him for his "hunting" practice. You don't pay that kind of money and not know where you are hunting, what the laws are, etc.
He knew damn good and well there was a national park there.
And of course he is going to throw the guides under the bus. Of course. They fucking said it was okay, so it must be okay - nice excuse.
I usually don't get this fired up about most things, but this - this is......I don't even know.

This. I really can not understand what went wrong in a persons life/childhood to look at a animal and want to kill it. I can't wrap my brain around intentionally killing a huge, beautiful animal. I literally makes my heart hurt.
I'm scared that the safari will be charged for this and not him.
Would this really be so bad? I mean, I would prefer it if all parties were punished, but I believe the safari knows the service they are providing and intentionally lured the lion.
I hate this man so much. So, so much. What a selfish and heinous act. I hope he is charged with poaching and is charged to the fullest extent of the law.
I understand hunting for overpopulation in certain areas and certain species. But they control that with deer tags and such. This scumbag was already arrested and federally charged with killing a black bear in an illegal area. One year probation and $2800 fine. Fuck this fucker. His google reviews are also going nuts. And I've found two FB pages for River Bluff Dental that have clearly been made up to shame the ignorant bastard. Someone went as far as to post his full name, address, phone numbers, AND the address of his vacation home in Marco, FL. His practice also 'unexpectedly' closed today with a sign on the door directing people to a PR firm. How in the fuck any PR firm is going to successfully turn this around is beyond me. Bye-bye practice. Hello moving van.
I feel like I'm walking a thin line here because I don't necessarily have a problem with people hunting, for example, fish or deer. But the fact that you can get a permit to kill a lion with a bow and arrow is kind of disgusting.
This mofo hired a SEO team last week, and told them that they'd probably be busy. He knew this shitstorm was coming, and yet that sorry ass apology was the best he could come up with?
This was learned via a friend's FB postings. Her agency was the SEO team hired. They've since fired him as a client.
Wouldn't he know the risk of big game hunting in Africa? It's not like everything is on the up and up there. I hate that he is playing the "I didn't know card", when situations like this have happened to other "hunters". Hunting isn't a sport. In a sport, both sides should know their playing. It is not a game either, because in game, both sides are playing for fun.
