It's hot as balls here. Thankfully we have a window ac unit, but damn I want to die the second I go outside.
My rant for the evening is how much I hate out accident adjustor. The just denied over $5000 in expenses related to out accident. They'll cover the cost of medication from seeing our specialist, but won't cover the expenses to get said doctor.
On the bright side, my house is nice and tidy, and the heat wears out the kids, so they'll sleep early tonight, and I'll actually get a break! **breaks out a beer**

It's going to be swassy here all week, too. I'm sitting in the a/c so I don't care. We're about to cook dinner and then collapse on the couch. I've not yet recovered 100% from Sunday night. Lame.
I finished cleaning out my classroom today! Thank goodness. I wore Ingrid to keep her happy enough to let me get some work done.
I'm kind of sad, but trying to remind myself I got a new job! Exciting! Still some sads, though.
What are you going to be doing?
I got a job teaching English I online. I'm a little nervous I'll hate aspects of it (all the grading and calls home with no classroom dynamic), but I am very excited about the flexibility.

This is similar to what I'll be doing now, and I agree that I'm nervous about the lack of in-person interaction. That's my favorite part of teaching! Can I ask what kind of software you're going to be using? I'm stuck with Blackboard, and I hate it just as much now as I did when I had to use it during grad school.

I think it is Blackboard as well, but not positive. I start training 8/3, so I should know then. When do you start? Are you teaching secondary?
All the trashcans are still lined up outside. One person cleared them out from in front of their garage, so they are now two deep at the crazy lady's place.

I start 8/25, and my training just wrapped up yesterday. I'm teaching Dual Credit English to high school juniors and seniors, so it's sort of college and sort of high school. I'm not required to contact parents since I'm employed by the community college rather than the high school, which is nice since it was my least favorite part of the last decade I've spent teaching high school.

Today my coworker had a sore throat so I offered her some honey. She had never tasted straight honey before, just had honey-flavored products. I thought that was so crazy. She was worried it would taste weird and asked me to explain the taste so she was prepared for it. Umm, it's super sweet and most people love it???
Is that normal? Have most grown people not tasted honey?
She loved it BTW and said she was getting some on they way home from work.
I want to get drunk tomorrow night before my Dr appointment Thursday. Since I am off Thursday for said appointment, tomorrow night was logical, and it's payday so I can buy stuff. I don't want to get drunk alone though and H works at 5am on Thursday.
Someone come get drunk with me tomorrow night. Or go out with me or something. Haven't been sleeping well for a while the closer I get to this appointment even knowing that I am being irrational with my freaking out.

Ohh, nice. Yeah, mine is heavily dependent on communication with parents and students. Wah wah. BUT I get to make my own schedule, make more $, and a break from hallway behavior.

That seems odd to me. We used to buy these little sticks (kind of like pixy sticks) filled with honey at the local farm/grocer. They came in regular and a million other fruit flavors, and you could look at a giant wall of bees while you picked them out. I don't find the bees that interesting now but I would watch forever when I was little.
I'm irritated. H started a project in the kid's room, and of course one thing always leads to another with him. The next thing I know he decides to completely empty out our storage room to get rid of some shit, so he asked me to go through MY stuff to see what I can get rid of. Except. EXCEPT. this guy went out and bought 6 Rubbermaid containers and just shoved all of his shit into them instead of actually getting rid of anything. My stuff is all over the basement, I can't get anything done because I'm trying to deal with a teething baby, and guess who's not home? My h. I swear this man has ADD because he cannot stay focused on anything to save his life. How building shelves turned into tearing apart the basement, then turning into going and buying apples to make a pie, I have no idea.

It's funny you say that because I described those exact sticks to her and said that stores sell them for hiking and stuff.
I usually am am giving her different veggies to try that she hates so I'm glad to finally have a win!

For years H said he hated broccoli. Then about 6 years ago I found out he never had it before. WTF?
Now that's pretty much the only veggie he will eat.
He was talking about how he needed more bins for his cords, so I was like "ok, if you just wait a bit I can go through Sofia's old clothes and free up some bins". Nope, taking too long. So he went and bought 6, 6L bins. The fuck you have so many cords that you need 6 6L bins for?! Get rid of that shit. Guess how many bins we have left after his cords have been stashed away? 5 bins. So, this whole project was started so that he could get rid of some stuff, and he ended up with 5 more empty bins.

Oh and I just discovered that my husband and I have been using the same toothbrush for 2 days. I thought he put out a new one for me and when I thanked him for it he said it was his! Oops.
It is H's bday. We took a half day off. Had lunch, drinks, wandered around downtown, came home and had the sex and then picked up the kids. Better yet, J's game was cancelled tonight. So we are going to our neighborhood restaurant for taco Tuesday. Saaaaweeeeet

I got the all clear from my neurosurgeon today. He wrote me back to work effective 8/21 which is the day teachers go back. I can also go back to the gym. So that stuff is Yay!
However he wants me to follow-up with the plastic surgeon who fixed my scars in October to see if he thinks my current scars will stay closed.
Also, all the time in bed had seriously thrown my back out. Ibuprofen isn't touching it and I'm out of all the good stuff. I will call the chiropractor tomorrow. Until then it is hot baths and the heating pad.
ETA: I am allowed to drive! My car had been sitting since May 19. Checked it last week and it starts, but I think we will go get an oil change tomorrow.

I've got maybe 15 or so muscle relaxers and no qualms about interstate drug deals. Say the word!
Our two states combined are still smaller than most other states!
Let me get to the chiropractor and then I will let you know. I have a ruptured disc that is aggravated like hell.
My kid turns into a freaking monster when we travel. He just hit and kicked me and then called me ugly for 20 minutes while I got him ready for bed. I brought the monitor and I'm in the hotel bathroom, crying, waiting for him to go to sleep so I can hang out in my mom's adjoining room.
I really don't think I'm cut out to be a mom sometimes.
ETA and I don't even know how he knows the word ugly. That's not something we say at home. WTF?
