I wore an alternate denim skirt I didn't know I had out tonight, and it turned out that when I sat down, it was so tight I could barely breathe. I was so uncomfortable, that I wore it unbuttoned and unzipped. My shirt covered it enough so you couldn't tell. #disaster
I'm watching the documentary Rich Hill, which is about soul-crushing poverty. I have never been so sad watching the lives of other Americans. I want class warfare right now. There's no reason that some people have to live like this when there is a 1% in this country. Or trillions of dollars spent on new aircraft that isn't even as advanced as an F-16.
Fuck.
I'm a long time lurker, but thanks for mentioning this film. I'd heard about it before but forgot about it. I'm putting it on my watch list. I work with families of children with developmental delays in this area and have had several clients in this town. Sadly, poverty like this is everywhere. This is actually one of the larger towns in this county.
Can someone explain to me why you can't post pictures of car seats in the Tula Love FB group?? I have no idea why you might want to, but why can't you???
Oooooooh H just booked a work trip to Vegas for October and then threw out, "Hey, what if we get my parents to come watch the kids and you come with me?"
YES PLEASE
When? I'll be in Vegas for "work" October 1-4.
We could get drunk and watch Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
I have to read the baby 15 books in two days in order to fill the whole library summer reading program sheet and get a free book. Challenge accepted! Never mind that the free books are all paperbacks designed for kids who are at least six years old. We are doing this! I'll save it along with his t-shirt, which won't fit until he's about four years old.
Are they going to quiz him on the books? What if he gets one wrong??!?
FIL is visiting us at the lake, with his wife in tow. I actually really like his wife. But man, interactions between FIL and H are awkward. So little actual talking.
@bunnybean I'm working my way through all the documentaries on Netflix while I pump. If you want to stroke your liberal rage boner some more, check out After Tiller, Best Kept Secret, and Remote Area Medical. So good (but sad).
I have concluded all documentaries are about ballet, food, or horrible tragedies.
We found out today that daycare is closed next Tuesday. Apparently they need to do some upgrades to the power lines going into the university and need to shut off the power for the day. Great. I was able to get the day off, but I now have 4 hours left of vacation for the year.
We got our pics from the mini session we did a couple weeks ago. Damn I need to stop eating so much. Otherwise they look great. Although I hate the shoes MH was wearing. Didn't have any other options though. Apparently I need to get him some Sperrys or something.

I have the best MIL. She watches the kids every Tuesday when I'm at work. She forgot her swimsuit today and the kids wanted to go swimming. So she just went in the pool in her clothes. When I got home she was drying off as much as she could and then just drove home in her wet clothes wrapped in a big beach towel.
I mean, she was just wearing cargo type hiking shorts, a sports bra and a light button down tank over it. I hope I have a body like hers and the confidence she does at age 68.

I bought a romper pattern at Joanns tonight and then spent almost two hours on the Internet looking at cool fabrics to make baby clothes out of. In the end I couldn't decide and didn't order anything.
I also want to make all new reusable grocery bags in cute fabrics, but I can't justify the cost of fabric.
H is about to finish the shelf in our master bath. I can't wait. It's such a small project that's taking much longer than he thought.
I've been binge watching old Greys. I'm glad I'm still in the seasons when it's good.
I am watching as well. Yesterday I watched the train derailment one where the man and woman were stuck on the pole. Sobbed like a baby and I was only half paying attention. The early seasons were so good.
So I posted a bunch of pics on FB of our Nova Scotia trip. I'm friends with our optometrist and she messaged me on FB today to tell me that based on some of the pics she saw, she thinks Tessa looks like she might be a bit cross eyed.
I guess it's good she let me know, but now H is all freaked out about it
:/
DS had this. He wore glasses for a year (from 3-4), and it's all better now. No patching or surgery required. If you catch it early, which it sounds like you have, it's usually a really easy fix.

It's good that glasses on little kids are the cutest thing ever!
