My dad brought us homemade Stromboli and cake lol. That was delicious. I also appreciated fruit trays because I didn't have time to prep stuff like that.
This was one of the best things! My mom made it for us and I could just quickly grab a sandwich or snack. Also some homemade cookies or pasta salad is good too.
When Benjamin was born my MIL brought us a pasta bake - egg noodles, chunks of chicken, peas, carrots, celery, onion in a chicken gravy type sauce that was wonderful heated up, or just cold from the fridge too. My parents brought meatloaf, scalloped potatoes and a green salad.
No one brought anything when Elliot was born. I had meal planned and pepped a bunch of crock pot meals for that week since I was teaching, so we ended up having lot of easy options when we came home from the hospital - chili, minestrone soup, Swedish meatballs. Pre-marinated cuts of meat with a green salad and a load of bread is quick and goes together nicely.

I will need to do some serious meal prep when baby #4 comes! I'll be asking your for recipes.
My favorites after Carter came from the same person. She brought me scones, which were a delicious easy snack, and she brought me prepped salad stuff - cleaned, chopped veggies and toppings. That was what I want craving most.
