I (and DH) went on a 17 mile ride last night...I have to ride 4.5 more miles by end of Friday and I'll have 200 miles in this month!! It's my highest mileage month ever and it feels great. Not to mention I might actually be able to finally drop these last few pesky pounds I've been hanging onto.
Also, I just bought 1 day passes to ACL fest (3 day music festival for those not familiar) for October. I can't wait to have a full day packed with all sorts of bands!
Some people have no awareness of their surroundings. I almost ran into two different people on the trail today. I was coming up behind one of them, veering over to pass him on the left, when he suddenly stepped to the left directly in front of me and then stopped still. WTF dude. A similar thing happened with the second guy - he decided to turn around while looking at his phone, didn't look up to see who was around him, and I almost ran him over. Wake up, people!
ON YOUR LEFFFTTTT!!! People around here have no problem screaming that out, lol.
Lol, me too! I love when I say it, and then people move left. Derp. Nooooo, you stay your course.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
(((@vtcupcake))) lots of hugs to you. I hope there's a nice way you can remember your mom today, despite the dad part.
And I had no idea she was a con! Her story was very eye roll-worthy from the start on MMM, so I didn't believe it all, but dang. My DS is the same age, and I do have I think 2 friends from our baby group who are still nursing, so it's not like it's soooo unlikely, but the formula thing is interesting, since it's so opposite everything she's posted on MMM. Whateva is wrong with people?

I'm getting scared about not doing any elevation training for Ragnar Tahoe. I know it's just for fun, and I'm not at all worried about my pace, but I do want to have fun, damnit!

One of my anniversary board ladies corroborated this with me, someone in our group was having trouble nursing and this chick recommended formula to her. I'd post the link but we have our fb group on lockdown because of The Cray.
I think "people" in this sense are attention-starved and mentally imbalanced, and she is just the perfect storm of just smart enough and just imbalanced enough to succeed with the long con. It's sad from an outside perspective, but infuriating that she's potentially playing some people I really care for from a biased, myopic standpoint.
Yup, totally get it. I just do not understand the psychology of lying to strangers, but I know it's out there!

I was just ranting about this (in my head) last night. It happened 4 times in 4 miles. I don't get why that is so challenging for people. I try to yell it early enough to give people time to react. And then I love to be the asshole who says while passing "Or on your right. Whatever."
Omg, it's like 110 degrees out right now. Blech, I'm so glad I'm not a runner. Lol
This week is the worst! It sucks since we had a patch of nice weather, too. We'll be up in the woods soon enough, eh?
Right? Urgh, I feel so bad for our poor solar installers, up there on the nice new highly reflective roof.
And you'll be FINE at elevation. Maybe take your first lap a little slower than average, but I've found that most runners from down here are fine at running up there, if a little slower. I, on the other hand, get all winded just walking up there, which makes me feel like a fat cow. LOL (But I can swim for daaaayz at elevation without getting winded, so it's really all about where your fitness is.)

Thank you for the vote of confidence! I'm excited to hear about your OWS that weekend too!

LOL, it's going to be a suckfest. I have LITERALLY not been in the pool (other than teaching lessons) since GCBS.

@vtcupcake, so many hugs. I'm sorry your dad is being a turd.
itsme, I understand completely. MIL's birthday is exactly one month before she died, and when we had dinner the weekend after her birthday she made a comment about how she would get to celebrate her next birthday with her grandson (I was 25 weeks pg when she died). So her birthday always serves as a reminder to me that she never got to meet the grandson she had wanted SO badly.
I have totally lost my motivation to run this week. I think it's the humidity. Three times I've made plans to run early with friends and three times I've bailed. WTF. At this point I'm not going to make plans to run the next two days and hope I'm in the mood to attack my long run on Saturday.

Ragnar Tahoe sounds like it would be a blast! Have fun!!
Someone just mentioned how good I'm looking and that she's impressed with my progress. I really wasn't feeling like going to the gym today but that made me want to go. I would have gone anyway since I rarely miss a day but there's plenty of times I don't want to go.
I bought this for trail running. I hope to get in a trail run this weekend because I really want to try it out.
I have a sprint tri on Saturday and haven't worked out in over a week. I was completely wiped from a uti. I am doing it for fun, so I know I'll finish, but still.
Yesterday I took a deep water aerobics class, with a lot of little old ladies! Lol! It was actually perfect for rehab! Then i swam 1000 meters. I highly recommend water aerobics if you need to rehab anything or just need a break from high impact sports, even if you are with some spunky, silver haired ladies!
I LOVE water aerobics! I haven't done it in forever, but I remember doing a step class in the water that kicked my butt, lol. I should look into it again. We have a great community center pool, and I get a kick out of chatting it up with the older ladies.

I am always amazed at the people that don't hear me scream this because of their damn earbud volume. I need to buy stock in hearing aid companies.
It was like 100 degrees on Saturday and I chopped off all my hair! I'm pretty happy with it, but might go back and get the front/top a little shorter. It might need some color or highlight or something too because it seems kind of "flat".
Today is my mom's birthday. I miss her. I'm also really fucking pissed at my dad all over again because I mentioned that it was her birthday to him last night, and he was all "what, oh, really?"
We came up to a friend's lake place up north for a few days. It is much cooler than I even thought! (I was expecting stereotypical resort country, but I didn't really know.) It is a beautiful 1920's cabin but still comfy and it's in the middle of a national forest! So much nature and beauty. I scared up a deer this morning while running the trails, and it was breezy and a perfect 60 degrees. I love being "up north."

This made me chuckle at myself.... My running partner knows me well enough that when someone yells 'on your left' she grabs my arm and pulls me off to our right because in the midst of a long run I get dazed and can't remember right from left most times.

I'm not even a runner, but the "on your left" discussion caught my eye on the app because bad trail/sidewalk etiquette drives me nuts even as a walker/hiker!
@vtcupcake, thanks for sharing the catfish info. She's been on my radar since her first post when she said she had never been apart from her son; now I'm going down the rabbit hole of looking at old Nest posts!

Trying for #3; FET 8/18 -- BFN. Leaving things up to chance for now... After three years, three IVFs, and two FETs, we finally have our miracle babIES!
