DD ate around 1030 or 1045 in K, and they had post-recess snack and end-of-day (around 1pm) snack. They weren't substantial, but seemed to tide her over.

My guess is there's a snack.
Regardless, my SIL with 3 kids (11, 10, and 7) still says they come home ravenous. One time between the 3 of them they ate 8 peanut butter sandwiches :-|
So I'd have stuff prepped at home or for the car ride. As it is, I have to do this w the boys -- they eat at 12 (after a morning snack) and have afternoon snack, but the afternoon snack is at 3 and I pick them up at 5:30. After a day of galavanting and learning they are hangry at 5:30!!!

Check to see if there is a snack time or if you are allowed to send a snack for a recess. DD had an early lunch for K, and we were allowed to send a snack in for her afternoon recess time.
Last year my first grader's lunch time was 1:15. I usually just packed a sizable snack. He was fine.
I would imagine that if they have 10:30 lunch that their snack time is in the afternoon, so I would pack snacks accordingly. I would not want to face a room full of hangry kindergartners.

That was my thought. As a teacher I'd rather face a group of hostile ninjas than hangry kids
Agreed, even if there isn't an official snack break my guess is the teacher will allow them to have a snack at some point in the afternoon. One of the teacher's I subbed for did this, for whatever reason they had an early lunch and an early recess/snack time so she allowed quiet snacking during afternoon circle time around 2. NOBODY want's a room full of 5 yr olds with the HANGRYS
This is pretty standard here for kindergarteners. My son started school at 7:40 and ended at 1:40. His lunch was at 10:30 as well. No snack He was pretty hungry by the time we got home, but was fine. The preschoolers also had lunch at 10:30. Not sure if they had a snack built in.
