I was doing this once and the light turned green and I didn't notice, the guy behind me went and smashed into me causing me to rear end the car in front of me. My car was totaled. So yeah still not a very good idea, things can happen while you're stopped at a light.

I really try not to look at my phone when I'm stopped but I often do. Ugh, it's such a stupidly bad habit that I need to stop.

I have made an huge effort to put a stop to this. I feel guilty that I've done it so much in the past as it is.

Here it is considered illegal. It's a $300 ticket.
