Doing trigger point therapy. He put a ball on my upper trap and secured it with a theraband that went underneath my foot and left it there for FIVE MINUTES. I cried during minutes 2 and 3. He just kept saying "I'm sorry, it's going to get better, I'm sorry."
I've had patients cry many times. No big deal, you weren't the first nor the last. At least it was over something legit and not because you are an emotional head case

This makes me feel better. I wish he told me I wasn't the only one who has cried. I thought I was just lame.
In full disclosure, I have also cried in PT before (after my first knee surgery). I am somewhat reassured to know I'm not the only one (but sorry you are suffering with pain).
I tried to do the trigger point thing again and I'm in the bunny room (this other room in my gym no one uses on Saturdays) sobbing because it hurt too much.

I'm never getting better am I?
[br Yes you will. I don't have neck pain and I am 100% sure you could still find trigger points in my traps that would make me cry. Trigger points are "normal". There's a readib why your PT can find them immediately.
When I did PT after my ACL reconstruction, I definitely cried. That hurt like a fucker. But it did get better. And you'll get better (there are still movements/trigger points that hurt like a bitch once in a while and I can do all the things I used to do).
I think it need a trigger point massage. I have a deep knot in my calf that's been causing some heel pain, or so I was told by one of the guys at my lrs. So do I just need to find a good PT?
