You probably saw me post about this on FB, but this story is too weird not to share.
We went to Sesame Place today and we had a lot of fun. But when we went over to the big wave pool, I happened to notice a girl sitting on a beach chair right on the edge of the water. I noticed she was holding a huge ziplock bag and I was trying to figure out what was in it because it looked...not right. Then I see her spit into it and I realize she is puking. I scoop S up and run over to mh who is on the other side of the pool with V. I'm watching her now and the girl is completely lethargic and barfing. Her dad is standing in front of her, sort of blocking her.
There are several lifeguards, so I approach one and tell her what is going on. At first she is confused and then she says she thinks a different lifeguard called it in already. And not to worry because they test the water and if they find any vomit they close the pool.
Even though we are basically in another pool at this point, I convince V to go to the water slide instead because this is really skeeving me out. As we are in line, I see them close the pool, probably 10 minutes after I originally saw her. She must've been there a while before I saw her.
What kind of parent thinks this is ok? I mean, I get things happen, but she looked awful. And hello, it's vomit! By the water! Take her to first aid or something if you absolutely cannot leave for some reason.
We are going on vacation Monday and I'm going to be so super pissed if we get sick from this.

I would be so worried if my kid looked like that at home. She looked AWFUL. I can't believe you would leave her in the blazing sun in public in that condition.

That's just so horrible, both for all the other guests and for that poor child in that condition. How terrible! That's a majorly judge worthy parenting offense.
Poor kiddo. I'm hoping it was a sudden onset type puking, because why on earth would you take your sick, puking, probably-just-wanted-her-mama child to a public pool??
She was in the process of puking when you saw her? How do you know she didn't just feel sick and get rushed to the nearest chair. Of course they left her in the sun if she was throwing up. It's not like you want to carry your actively vomiting child to the bathroom. I take ziploc bags with me when we go to water places a lot because they're handy for putting wet clothes in.
I wouldn't jump to judgmental conclusions with having seen just a few minutes. Last month, Abby ended up throwing up in a JC Penney bathroom, but wasn't able to make it to the stall so ended up with most of it in the trash can, with quite a bit on herself and the floor. I have no doubt people were judging us, but stuff happens.

I feel bad for her but I wouldnt jump so quickly to judging the parents or the situation. I always have ziplock bags with me to hold my cell phone and keys when we are on a boat or near water.

Dude. It was a HUGE bag of puke. HUGE. I have no qualms judging someone for not removing their puking kid from a public pool.
Eta: and as I said, they were there for at least ten minutes after I saw them. Roasting in the sun. Not in the shade, not a one time puke accident. Sitting with her feet in the pool while her dad blocked her and puking into a freezer size ziplock.
There are like 20 possible explanations for this situation. She was probably struck suddenly with a bug or heat exhaustion. Herding other kids out of the water to go home would take awhile. Dad probably wasn't hiding it, but trying to provide her with a tiny bit of privacy.
The older my kids get the less phased I am by puke and poop. Lol. Kids are NASTY. I try to see all exposure, known or unknown, as building antibodies.
