I did an urban cyclocross ride tonight. Some storms moved through on the south side of the city. The light through the clouds against the downtown skyline was gorgeous! Walking Dead fans will recognize this skyline and bridge.
uggghhh it's awful but it's either that or not working out at all. I'm so mad about the Fitbit though. I realized it when I was stretching that the thing wasn't in the band. RAGE.
Damn no pics of my morning workout but here are some mental pictures for you all: ran 1/2 way around the lake with the dog, stopped at the dog beach for him to let some crazy out, finished the run around the lake (almost 2 miles), dropped the dog off at home and then continued on for 3 more miles on the beach boardwalk.
It was a great morning out - I'll remember to take some pics next time!!
I'm posting this from my Tri last week. Water slide start (which I hate). I apparently will never get out of the gymnast habit of always shooting for good form.

the hell is this?! Is this a common thing?
Only at one race we do. They did it for the first time last year. EVERYONE bitched. So naturally...they brought it back this year.
This race typically caters to a lot of first time Tri people, but still. No.
I miss running. This was me running bleachers during the football camp last week before I got pushed and got a concussion.
What?! What happened exactly? Hope you're ok now??
Went to a football camp last week. Did some drills. Was holding one of those pad things for somebody to push me on a defense drill. She pushed me too hard and I ended up falling backwards and smacking my head on the ground. The girl apologized like crazy, the person from the coaching staff running that particular drill asked if I was okay. I thought I was. Continued with a few more drills before the camp was over. Went home and was groggy once I got there. Passed out before 10. Figured I was just tired because I had been outside in 100+ heat for a few hours. Woke up Sunday and felt nauseous and sleepy still. Went to the doctor on Monday and was told I had a concussion. Doctor told me to take it easy. Tell that to the 5 year old. Ha. I'm feeling better today. I feel less queasy each day. She told me I should probably take a half day or two to give my brain some time to veg. Bossman's out of town so I figured that would be enough veg time but even then I'm wiped out by the time I get home. Sorry that was a novel. Ha.
This was from a 6+ mile run this morning with some coworkers. Runs after a night shift are so hit and miss. This one sucked. Got a headache at mile 4 and was 3rd spacing like crazy even though I was NOT dehydrated. Ugh. Even woke up with a headache this afternoon. And the sun was HOT! It was beautiful though. And I have amazing, kick-ass coworkers!
ETA: There are wild fires around, hence the hazy sky!
