My 14 mo old is anemic; she's taking a liquid iron supplement which we squirt into her mouth with a dropper.
I also try to offer iron-rich foods. I made some pancakes using a recipe on wholesomebabyfood.com that uses infant cereal; each pancake has about 20% of the RDA for toddlers.
And our pedi recommended no more than 20 oz of milk a day.
P has to be on an iron supplement and he sucks it out of the dropper before I can even squeeze it in his mouth! I tried it and it's yummy. The Amazon reviews are way better than any other iron supplements.
rxbeth also suggested I hide a nasty med in chocolate syrup once and it worked.
