My husband is on the phone with a friend who has a newborn. He is sharing baby wearing tips, and telling him which carriers work best for newborns. lol.
So... Which carriers work best for newborns? I'm not liking my k'tan and the Moby and other wraps seem too complicated.
I was going to say the ktan - what aren't you liking about it? I love wrapping with woven wraps but hated the moby since I could never get it tight enough.
Eta - I also really really love my double linen ring sling (sakura bloom). It was great with a newborn!

Last night H and BIL were chatting about BIL's upcoming wedding. BIL casually mentioned their $100k budget (!!!!!!!!). H said that he played it off cool because BIL obv has no idea that it is outside of a normal budget but he came back to our cabin with huge eyes and woke me up to tell me. I believe they are inviting like 125 people?

DD's former daycare teacher that moved across the country last year sent me a Facebook message asking if I had thought about joining her I.t Wo.rks team. Oh lord.
Lazy afternoon at home with the TV on. We visited my coworker this morning to meet her new baby, came home for nap time, and now we're surrounded by toys on the floor while I watch Friends.
My sister invited me to her work's summer party tonight at 6, so I'm trying to rest before that since I feel crappy after napping while C napped.
whew! we did the newborn pictures this morning!!! poor DS was NOT having it by the last 30 minutes or so. fortunately, the photographer is a very good friend with 7 kids of her own, so she was very patient as we stopped to nurse every once in a while to calm him down and keep him happy and sleepy. I'm super excited to see them in the next 2-3 weeks!
DS has now been napping for the last 2 hours, which is good since we're invited to a friend's house for dinner. hoping the nap keeps DS in a good mood for tonight.
namasteak, I feel like I can't get him snug enough in it, even with the sash. I think it's a size too big although I bought (well, registered for) according to measurements. I'll probably end up selling it. I do have a mei tai which fits him well, but it being canvas and outside temps are 100*, he and I are both sweating within 15 minutes. there is a local organic/natural baby store that sells ring slings (they may even have some sakura blooms, I know they have heavenly bundle) so I'll stop by there some time and ask them, hopefully try some on. I am also looking at Lillebaby all seasons and/or Ergo 360 for a SSC.
We actually got 4.5 year old DS1 to take a nap this afternoon! So hopefully that means we can hang a bit longer at friends house tonight and push bedtime back a bit.

I think you are kind of close to me. Send me a PM with where you live and maybe we could plan to get together so you can try my carriers. I have: an ergo, ktan, silk ring sling, single linen ring sling, double linen ring sling & 5 wraps (3 different brands).

I may end up taking you up on that. I was at a friend's house last night, and she showed me how to use her boba, AND let me know that there is in fact a local babywearing group, yay. Ok much less intimidated now.
pooh8402 that looks pretty good. Try pulling the bottom piece (the part with the knot) up a little bit since you shouldn't need to have your hand under him for support and make sure his knees are up past hips (like a frog). He is at a great height (remember "visible & kissable") which is better than I did in a wrap with a NB!
And sorry if that is way more info than you wanted. I love baby wearing and helping other moms Figure it out.
