Nursery Progress and Questions

We have taken our open closet and converted it into an alcove for baby preppy. It used to look like this:

We live in a loft so it's open on one side to our room, no doors. Anyways we have been working really hard to prep the space and we are about 75% finished. Right now the main portion is complete and I am really proud of how it came out.

The other wall where the crib is we need to decorate the wall behind the crib and maybe add something to the corner where the diaper pail is.

I am thinking about the gold dot decals on that wall with either a pink or gold wall monogram from Pottery Barn. Or just the letter S instead of a monogram. This is kinda similar to my idea:

My hesitation on the dot is that it would be weird/hard since we have such high ceilings. For reference this is how high up it goes:

Any suggestions or ideas for that wall? Do people like the combo of gold dots and her initial or monogram? The only thing I don't want is any decals other than these small dots, typically decals are NMS.

Suggestions welcome!

Also these are the two types of monograms I was looking at. I would order the circle one in bright pink or the scripted one in gold.

I can see how that would be hard! Aren't you moving fairly soon? I would skip decals. I like the idea of doing something similar to the first monogram with swapping the white and pink so you don't have to paint as much. Either full monogram or a S would be great.

We are moving in April! I wanted to use things I can reuse in the new house. DH just pointed out that we don't have a ladder and would have to see if our super has a tall one before we could even consider the decals. It def seems like kinda a pain in the butt.

Yeah I would save the decals for the new house. They will be a pain to take off and I don't know how reusable they will end up being.

I loooooveeee the keekaroo. Clearly haven't actually used it, but I love the look and that it doesn't require laundry.

We have very similar taste. I did her initial and the gold polka dots behind her crib, here's a pic so you can get an idea of how it would look. I also love the look of the Pottery Barn monogram.

I got the swaddle at a place called Little Unicorn (http://littleunicorn.com). They have the cutest stuff. I also got a diaper bag from them and I love it, it looks like a regular tote.

Such a sweet little space! I don't think you would need to go all the way to the ceiling with the decals. You could start with a few of them as high as you can reach and put more of them closer together as you get lower, kind of feathering them in if that makes sense. I also think the monogram would be a nice way to fill the space. I'd pair it with a pink monogram, only because the other two walls have something pink on them. I think it would complete your color scheme nicely.

For the dots, do this but in reverse.

Lots of dot at bottom, fewer dots up high. Or band on lots of dots in middle and fewer up high, down low.

Looks great! I love the gold monogram - and agree I would hold off on the decals until after the move. Love it though, you used the space really well!

Winter clothes are in storage. Fall clothes for post baby are in one bin together in the downstairs closet. My dresser is moved to where DH's dresser was and now his is in his office. We also added another shelf/rod in the office closet so maternity clothes that need to be hung up are in there.

Basically it was a lot of rearranging. Urban living at its best!

The dresser that is currently in there houses winter stuff. Scarves, hats, gloves, Christmas crap, etc. One of the drawers is a catchall. Another had table linens and blankets in it. I need to do a ruthless purge and that is where supplies will go. I did manage to clear an extra shelf in our linen closet this weekend, so the tablecloths at least are going there. I'm not sure about the rest of it yet.

Now that I'm writing this out, I'm realizing that we can probably actually keep H's closet in there for a while if we just clear out that dresser. I also have a feeling that I have realized that before. hmm.

As much as I love the gold dots (and I ESPECIALLY love them with a pink PB monogram or in a reverse waterfall), I think I would leave it until you are in your new place in the spring. SO MUCH EXTRA WORK for such a short time, you know?

I like...make that love the gold dots. For the high ceilings, I would do maybe the same amount, just spaced out a little more...and maybe more random (I would do that anyways because I have no idea how you line them up).  I guess they are kind of random in the picture. They get more concentrated towards the top, maybe your dots can be a little more sparse toward top?
