So we had an old colleague of DH's stay with us for several days this week (senior big law attorney, fwiw). Kind of invited herself over. I'm not a huge fan as she really has nothing to talk about but work.
Anyway, when she left, she left a card with a $50 Starbucks card in it and a thank you note. I noticed that the pin was scratched off already. I tried to add the balance to my app anyway, but it says the card is already registered on someone else's app. So best case I can't use it with the app (and rewards) I already use. Worst case someone else also has access to it...
Would you (make DH) do/say anything? $50 is a lot of Starbucks. Also am I crazy to be like wtf?
I wouldn't say anything. Next time she invites herself, I would say you can't have house guests (I mean, doesn't she make a crap ton of money anyway!??).

Yeah go to Starbucks asap and have them put the balance on a new card if they can.
If you can't use it at all, I still would say nothing. Several times students/parents have given me sb gift cards with part of the balance gone and some random balance left like $3.27.

I would take it to Starbucks and have the balance transferred asap. I would want my rewards and to have it loaded to my phone so I wouldn't have to carry the card. Plus if it is registered to someone else they can transfer the balance in a second or if you lose the card you are out of luck

She probably just used a card she already had to add $50, rather than going to the store to get a new one. I always find Starbucks helpful, so I would just ask them to check the balance, then do what mixedberryjam suggested.
