I don't want to jinx it but dare I say we had a good breastfeeding day? There was milk in the shield (that's only happened like 3 other times) and Ethan looked at me like "oh wow this is different." I ordered the SNS that is apparently more user friendly (I only have a starter kit now) so maybe I will keep at it for a little while now that I'm $50 poorer.
In other news, Ben doesn't like PB&J. Or he likes it but hates his hands getting dirty and is a drama queen about it. I bought a thing of Uncrustables (partly for me, lol, it's hard to make time to eat lately) and he saw them and said "muffin." And ate it enthusiastically. So now I call them "peanut butter muffins" and he loves them. I think something about the individual packaging makes him think they are a snack. #winning
DS is working on his 3 1 yr molar. Poor kid is miserable and skipped his afternoon nap. He was a mess by 5:30.
We went patio furniture shopping today and found a set that we really like, but it was 6k for a table, 6 chairs, and umbrella. I think we will just wait until next year to buy something.
Whew. Tonight did not go as planned. DS1 fell and cut his gums above his teeth right at bedtime. Then DS2 refused to go to sleep. Almost 2 hours later and they are both finally asleep.
On a funny note, we obviously still need to work on colors with DS1 because as blood was dripping down his face he started freaking out that everything was getting blue. "My teeth and clothes are all blue!" Haha. I'm glad that was his biggest concern.
Awww I'm sorry he got hurt! Poor little guy. I hope it heals quickly.
I'm also somewhat relieved to see DS isn't the only 3.5yo who still confuses his colors. I know swapping white and black is somewhat common. But DS still sometimes says red is blue, or yellow is white. Maybe our kids are colorblind?
Oh and I organized both external hard drives today. So my mom is taking back her old laptop she gave me to wipe and donate and then we have a shitty hp to recycle.
So I have my current laptop, 2 external drives and online storage. That should be enough right? I feel like it's not bc I am too OCD.
I almost just had a heart attack. I went to my sister's work party tonight as her date, so H was home with C. I got home about 15 minutes ago and went to check on C in his room. His crib was empty. Cue momentary freak out until I went into our room and found him snuggled next to H. Apparently C's room got too hot and when H went to check on him he was still awake, so he brought him into our room and turned the AC on.
@justdairy I should have moved 8 loads of hay with how much pizza I am eating for dinner.
@littlemoxie, I have caught bits and pieces of your Hs story. He's stuck in Africa?
I'm lost with only my phone and not a laptop!
DD1 put herself back to bed at 8:15 am. Ended up at the dr. Ears were fine, no strep, swollen throat. She perked up with a smoothie (which we got while my laptop was being dropped off at the phone screen repair kiosk - only $200, not $620!!), then promptly threw it all up when we got home and spiked a temp of 102. I am done with today.
We had a good day, with a beach trip and fun times playing with blocks, but dinner & bedtime felt long. I'm considering joining Messrs @this and @mrswindycity in the "going to bed before 10pm" club of boring husbands.
We went to a baseball game with my dad. James was both an angel and a terror. He loved flirting with the women around us but was also pretty restless. Ah well, still fun. Now for the not fun drive home. I hope James falls asleep soon. We never keep him up this late.
We had an awesome day! DS's birthday party was today, which we had at our house and it was a blast. Lots of kids running around the yard and DS had the best time. It was exactly what I was hoping it would be! Here's a pic a friend posted on fb:
I am so impressed by my little guy. His attitude is better than H's and mine combined. He had shots yesterday, and one resulted in a painful looking welt. But he went to my friend's house with me for two hours, the library, two stores, and a sit-down dinner, and he was so peaceful and sweet the whole time. Meanwhile, I was exhausted and ready to be home. His middle name is in honor of my grandpa, who had the sweetest, gentlest personality and kind heart, and he already reminds me of him. <3
I did a 9 pm grocery shop and now I want to relax with magazines and wine, but I get morning duty tomorrow, so I really should go to bed soon. Boo.
I'm nursing DD and she's fallen asleep holding my boob with a hand on each side, like my boob is a hamburger. She has this look on her face like "this is mine!" I tried to snap a pic but my POS won't do it in the dim light.
We are sleeping in separate rooms because my snoring is waking DH up. I like starfishing but it's weird to sleep alone!
I've have Korean BBQ short ribs in the crockpot and hope they taste good because it's $49 worth of beef. At least DH will still eat it even if it's not good.
Kids are in bed. h is going to Twin Peaks later to watch the Rousey fight. I'm going to watch the latest episode of Power and eat homemade blueberry pie and ice cream.
I just saw it. So intense and unexpected!! One of my fav shows right now.

I've got a teether too! DD is trying to get all 4 of her first molars and is 19 months but she is usually a teething mess MOTN. Seeing as her STTN nights are rare to begin with, MOTNs have been rough lately. Combine that with she lost Bear Bear a few days ago on vacation and the replacement was just ordered today, she couldn't have milk because she was sick but seems and we were still in a hotel yesterday, last night was rough. At least tonight I was able to give her the milk and she is in her own crib and is back to sleep.
Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have a consistent STTNer.
Instead of saying the words "milk" and "more", she is consistently signing "milk" and her version of "more" since we stopped the milk two days ago. It only took her over a year to really catch on to the sign language I taught her last fall. Other 19 month olds can say simple words, what's up with your vocab DD? Sigh.

Omg I ready to pass out but I promised DH we are doing it tonight. He is taking for freaking ever fixing the sink. Dammit, I going to fall asleep! He keeps coming back to make sure I am still awake and that he is almost done. I just want to go to sleep now
