DS1 hit his face on the edge of his bed. His top gums have a big cut across the front at the top of his teeth. It's no longer bleeding and we have rinsed with warm salt water. My Dad is a doc and said we don't need to do anything else because there is nothing anyone could do if the teeth are damaged anyway. Would you do anything else before I put him to bed?
Do you have a pediatric dentist/dentist he has seen? They will all likely have an emergency number on their answering service. Definitely call, even if it is to make an appointment for Monday AM.
So sorry that you have had to deal with this. Gums bleed a lot when they are cut, but you really want to see if there is damage to the teeth in the area and at least get a baseline exam.
Poor little guy - I'm so sorry! My niece fell headfirst into a table last year. Her whole top row of teeth were bleeding aferwards, but all of her teeth ended up being just fine. Hope your DS feels better in the morning!

Thanks, everyone. I called his dentist who had me check a few things and told me how to best care for it. He said DS1 should be fine. DS1 took it like a champ and within a couple minutes was more worried about the blood on his clothes.
I didn't see it happen so I was worried about his teeth. I had to pull up an old picture of his smile on my phone to make sure it looked the same lol.
