Did you buy a toddler bed, or transition to a twin size bed?

We're trying to decide what to do with A. And when to do it. DH wants to use the crib for the new baby, so we're just tossing around ideas.

Went right to a twin bed. Mattress and boxspring on the floor for DS1, DS2 was just the mattress on the floor.

We bought a toddler bed. DD slept in it for two years before we moved her to a twin bed at age 4. She probably would have been happy for another year but we needed the mattress back for the next baby.

I was thinking of moving to a toddler bed or at least a toddler mattress. We don't exactly have room for a twin.

DS' crib was a convertible, but instead of converting it We just put him straight into a full-size mattress with boxspring around age 2.

I want one of those so badly for my DS! I always thought they were so cool. We just converted his crib into a toddler bed, so he's got another year of two in that before we need to buy a twin.

We already have a twin in the guest room. (And a king since it's become the catch-all room.) We'll just use that twin when she's done with the crib. Not sure if we'll start with the mattress on the floor or not.

We had a convertible crib but decided instead of buying the rails/conversion kit when the time came to just buy a twin bed & mattress. He was just 2 months shy of 3 years.

We went straight to a bed. A full because it's what we already had.

We had a mattress on the floor for the first 3 days while we waited for her bed to be delivered. It sucked. Once she was up higher she slept better and quit rolling around so much.

We have a convertible and still just went right to a full bed. I'm too cheap to buy the toddler conversion kit for either crib (both girls were in cribs at the same time).

We went straight to a twin. I saw no point in buying toddler bedding then twin bedding since the baby was inheriting the crib.

Straight to a twin bed. DD just turned two, we made the switch the week of her birthday. We have not had any issues with falling out of bed and she loves her big girl bed.

We ended up not being able to convert DS1's crib because we had to saw one of the slats when he got his leg stuck.  So MIL bought him a toddler bed, but if we had to do it over I would have opted for a twin bed because he'll outgrow the toddler bed fairly quickly.  Luckily by the time he outgrows it DS2 will be ready for it so it won't be a complete waste.

We got a toddler bed from Ikea. It's in between a crib size and twin size for DS1. He was 19 months old, we needed the crib for ds2.

DS2 went right to a twin bed, but he was almost 2.5 when we transitioned.

IKEA junior bed at age 2. DD is still in to at age 7, although she was in a regular twin when we lived in France from age 3.5-5.

Her room here isn't that big and I also wasn't sure if I would want a bunk bed or trundle in the future. I think we've decided on a loft now, to gain more space. This is something she could have never slept in at age 2 or 3.

We had a convertible bed for J but we didn't use it/buy the conversion kit. We went straight to a full size bed. We didn't have any issues.
