Guys, I am experiencing a moderate to high level of pain in the outer sole (does that make sense?) of my left foot. It's the part of my foot about midway between my pinky toe and heel on the outer edge/sole. I haven't don't anything particularly strenuous today. I did a lot of walking on Wednesday in non-sensible shoes and my feet were KILLING that night, but seemed better by Friday. Could this be residual pain from the other day? I am limping to keep weight off of it. I was totally fine this morning!
Yes, you could have bruised it and now inflammation is setting in, creating the pain. Lots of walking in shit shoes can do this, I did it once after 3 days in Mtl walking around in flip flops.

My sympathies. Ive had pain like that for almost two weeks now and finally went to the doctor yesterday after not being able to put weight on it. I think I may have banged it on a wooden chair and then aggravated it by wearing heels (random I know).
Turns out I have a freaking stress fracture and went home with a super cool looking walking boot and have to stay off it for 6 weeks Hope yours isn't that but keep an eye on it. Feel better soon!

That is really strange. Did it start hurting today all of a sudden? Or did it get worse over the course of the day? Does it hurt at rest?
I fractured my fifth metatarsal a few weeks ago, and my pain is identical to what you're feeling. I misjudged a curb and ended up rolling my ankle. The ligament across the outside of the foot attaches to the fifth metatarsal (which is where you seem to be feeling your pain), and it pulled hard and broke my bone (avulsion fracture). The fall itself wasn't fun, but it didn't seem like it should've broken a bone. I've tripped/fallen like a billion times...it was just a freak accident. Did you roll your ankle and not think much of it? I was painful immediately but it was exponentially worse the following day.
Give it a few days, with Advil round the clock, and plenty of ice. If it's been a week and it's not better, and it's painful on palpation, go to an ortho. These fractures can be hard to read on Xray, so an urgent care could be a waste of your time (it was in my case).
