Between body pump, abs, and spin, I am sure that I could mentally and physically go out and just run 3 miles right now. But that is probably not the most sensible option.
So what is better, running constantly for a short distance and increasing distance gradually, or doing intervals for the full distance and gradually increasing the running intervals?
After I took a running hiatus and wanted to get back (mine was years off running tho) I redid c25k. It helped a lot. So either that it run/walk intervals and slowly increasing time will be your best. Just go slow and steady!
I've done this almost every year since I hate running on a treadmill and running on ice in London in the winter sucks. I do interval training (c25k or my own version).

I have been off almost 2 years now.
Starting easy with c25k might be good. Better to take it slower than push too much and adjust the weeks as you need!
Did you start right from week one? Or skip ahead a little?
Id try week one or two, see how you feel then adjust.after my injury my pt had me do 1-2 miles 3 times a week the first week, 2 the next then could add up to 3-4 miles total after that adding another mile/half mike each week after that until I felt like I was getting a good run in depending on my training needs. I liked staring slow the first 2 weeks to get my running legs back then after that adding in more miles was easier
