Who has a great homemade recipe? My ice cream maker has been sorely neglected and the insert is nice and frozen and I've had a hankering for some homemade.

Is it a cuisinart or similar? This is our basic standby. I have also mixed it with cut up fresh cherries
3/4 c sugar 3 cups cream, half/half and or milk (I do some mix of those, usually 2 heavier, 1 lighter) Splash of vanilla extract Drop or two of almond extract
Top with thin mints, Oreos, graham crackers, chocolate sauce or whatever else sounds good.
If you're ever in the mood for something adventurous - jalapeƱo ice cream. The sweet and spice and cool combination - so good. Really good with cinnamon sugar cookies.
