Ooh ditto to Bletchley Circle. Great show. Also Land Girls. There is a Canadian version also called Bomb Girls but I found Land Girls to be superior in every way.

I LOVED Land Girls.
I was so sad when it was cancelled. They really needed at least one more season. It was such a good show.
Pretty little liars is wonderful for when you have a newborn- it doesn't matter if you miss some of the episode, none of it makes sense anyway.
Yes. You're just there for the outfits and the home decor.
So true. I was catching up on my DVR'd episodes and my husband kept asking questions. I said "The No. 1 rule of watching PLL is to not try and understand what is happening. No one knows. Not even the people creating the show. Now shut up or go in the other room."
On-topic: Friday Night Lights is my most favorite.
Another show that I would dearly love another season of! It was so good. I resisted for a long time but I just loved it. I didn't like that Ruby Bentall disappeared after the first season, i loved her in Lark Rise to Candleford (and she was actually a pretty good Mary Bennet in Lost in Austen...though I prefer Lucy Briers).
If you are into period stuff watch North and South. Richard Armitage is the sexiest man alive.
It's written and created by Tina Fey. It's a made for Netflix series about a woman who held prisoner by a cult and lived underground for the last 20 year or so. She was rescued and after appearing on the Today Show, decided to stay in NYC. So she is experiencing New York with the naïveté of a young girl. And all her cultural references are from the early 90's.
It is light, funny and doesn't require much thought or concentration to follow the story. perfect for post partum.
Parenthood and Call the Midwife have helped me get through my mat leave so far. Parks and recreation is great if you want something funny and light to lift your mood. Also what about Gilmore girls? Probably good for mat leave, a feel good/won't make you cry type show lol.
I'm struggling with what to watch next, I can't seem to get into any new shows. I'm about to rewatch breaking bad. Or even grey's. Ack.
I can't believe nobody has recommended Wet Hot American Summer! But you have to watch the movie first to understand many of the jokes and storylines of the series. There are so many cameos!
Also, if it hasn't been mentioned yet, MAD MEN. (Eta: never mind, I see it's on your list!)
