I bought this skirt at Target today and plan to wear it to a rehearsal dinner, as well as to work. Sorry the pic is sideways but you can see the colors of it in this photo. If you click on it, it'll open larger and right side up.
Here are my questions:
1) I have a navy cami (the dark color in the skirt is navy) and a cardigan that is the plum color of the skirt. Would that be too much color/overload?
2) If I try to find a short sleeve blouse to tuck in and wear by itself with this skirt, which color from it would you go with?
3) Do you think a white v-neck tee paired with a nicer cardigan would look weird/too casual (the skirt is a satin-y type fabric)?
4) Shoes: I have a nude pair of dressy wedges I plan to wear with it to the rehearsal dinner. For work, I like flats since I am on my feet all day. Do I also need nude flats do you think or could I go with a color? And if so, what color?
Gah. I love this skirt but just don't know what to do with it.
I have a similar skirt and I have a hard time styling it. Lots of trial and error! I typically do a plain black (or navy) blouse with a grey or white blazer. Nude/black flats or or heels.

2) If I try to find a short sleeve blouse to tuck in and wear by itself with this skirt, which color from it would you go with? Navy or the red shade.
3) Do you think a white v-neck tee paired with a nicer cardigan would look weird/too casual (the skirt is a satin-y type fabric)? Yes.

Dressy flats in any of the colors in the skirt would work. Nude flats would also work and would elongate your legs.

1) I have a navy cami (the dark color in the skirt is navy) and a cardigan that is the plum color of the skirt. Would that be too much color/overload? No, they are darker colors that would keep it subdued. The brighter colors may take you out of your comfort zone, but any of those with a navy cardigan would be great too.
2) If I try to find a short sleeve blouse to tuck in and wear by itself with this skirt, which color from it would you go with? Navy, plum, or gray.
3) Do you think a white v-neck tee paired with a nicer cardigan would look weird/too casual (the skirt is a satin-y type fabric)? Try it with the cardigan to see how you feel but, I would swap the cardigan for a denim jacket and add a dainty necklace in the v-neck. I would pair it with neutral booties in gray or taupe. Gray would be great with matching tights in the fall as a transition. You might want a tee made out of a fancier fabric, but knit would be ok under denim and it would be fun for date nights or a GNO.
4) Shoes: I have a nude pair of dressy wedges I plan to wear with it to the rehearsal dinner. For work, I like flats since I am on my feet all day. Do I also need nude flats do you think or could I go with a color? And if so, what color? You could do a navy patent flat, a gray suede flat, or a metallic flat. Gray would be cute with gray tights in the fall.
I don't know why I didn't think of a denim jacket with it! That would look awesome and would be a great way to make it a bit less fancy for work (I'm a teacher, and most teachers wear khakis and polos or the equivalent). Thanks for the idea!
