Also, I have said this before, those commercials are the worst. I find them highly inappropriate and if any of the candidates were women there would be way more hoopla.
My parents said they saw one of those "resume review" commercials against Mulcair, and the basic premise was that he's too old/experienced to be pm. So the conservative platform is entirely based on "that one guy is too young, that other guy is too old, but Stephen Harper is juuuuuust right"?
He's the one Goldilocks approves of, apparently.
Related to the majority/minority thing, it's been 4 years and I'm still mad the Conservatives somehow managed to get a majority with just under 40% of the popular vote. Because of that I honestly have no idea what we could be looking at in this election, depending on how the votes fall. And, maybe more interesting, this could change if the Conservatives get ousted and first past the post voting is eliminated before future elections.

I think the Cons were most likely to change election logistics. I think abolish the senate is a promise that could make them attractive. As well as election reform
Ugh I am so anything but conservative right now. I would prefer the liberals, but will happily take the ndp or a coalition government if they can get their acts together.
I am in a hugely conservative riding on the outskirts of Ottawa which generally goes liberal. I hate my riding so much and strongly doubt we won't re-elect the sitting mp. Who makes my skin crawl. He's so smarmy. I am an active member in a group trying to bring proportional representation to Canada, since it would would better reflect the social makeup of the country as compared to the current first past the post system.
The only bonus in this is I have ongoing construction projects on the Hill so we won't have any more schedule interruptions until the 15th of October when things should hopefully be finished off. The Senate Scandal has destroyed our project budget and timeline due to all of the unscheduled meetings and events. (Now there's a hidden cost to all this BS).
