Lots of good books this month. I've read 40 of my 50 books for my goal, and am almost doing the Popsugar challenge. I probably have 10-15 more categories to fill on that one- that will be my focus come October.

Everything I Never Told You, Celeste Ng - 4.5* The Shadows (Black Dagger Brotherhood #13), JR Ward - 4* Let the Great World Spin, Colum McCann - 3* Fire (Graceling Realm #2), Kristin Cashore - 3* Bitterblue (Graceling Realm #3), Kristin Cashore - 4* The Fortune Hunter, Daisy Goodwin - 2* All the Bright Places, Jennifer Niven - 3.5*
I'm a few books ahead of schedule, but that's because I had a lot of library holds become available at the same time this month.
Best was Everything I Never Told You. The Fortune Hunter wasn't bad, just boring.
Skewed - 3* Ready Player One - 5* Loved it so much Armada - 4* Same author, not quite as good The Kind Worth Killing - 4.5* Read it because of reviews here and really enjoyed it. It was twisty without feeling forced
Started and just couldn't get into: Crooked Little Lies Elizabeth Street - I may try again. It was the type of book I generally like but I had zero interest in the characters.
-The Strange Case of the Walking Corpse by Nancy Butcher (3 stars. Fascinating and weird, but it seemed to be just a compilation of info found on various websites, etc.)
-Two for the Dough by Janet Evanovich (4 stars)
-2030 by Albert Brooks (3 stars. Not quite dystopian, not quite sci-fi, but thought provoking and interesting.)
Food: A Love Story by Jim Gaffigan - 3.5 Palimpsest by Catherynne M. Volante - 3.5 Oh! You Pretty Things! by Shanna Mahin - 2.5 The Paying Guests by Sarah Waters - 4 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by JK Rowling - 4.5 The Royal We by Heather Cocks - 2.5

July Reads: 29. Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography (4*) 30. Mama's Bank Account (5*) 31. Vampires, Bones, and Treacle Scones (3*) 32. Sidney Chambers and the Shadow of Death (4*)
I'm good for my target of 52 books for the year. I'm doing the PopSugar Ultimate Reading Challenge and, as of August 4, have ticked off 33 of the 52 tasks, and have 4 more in progress, so I think I'm doing well on that as well.
I guess I was busy this month! I only read three and a half.
Throne of Glass Books 2 & 3: 4 stars each My Beloved World, Sonya Sotomayor: 5 stars The Einstein Prophecy (July Kindle First: unranked, but looking like a 3 star book.
