My dad is super into music. He's not a musician or anything, but he is really into certain genres. He's an engineer so pretty logical all the time. I love that music brings out emotion in him.
He gave me my favorite music memory. It's in 1982ish. I'm pretty sure the Fall of '82. He brought me home this yellow and red portable cassette player. It had the characters from the book series " Me and My Dad on It". He bought the " Thriller" cassette for me and the first song I ever remember is " Billie Jean". We danced until dinner time to that and " Thriller". It was awesome. It's definitely what started my MJ obsession.
Do you have a favorite music, literary, art or theater memory?
Michael Jackson and Duran Duran were my first cassette tapes. My grandpa gave me the MJ one, he was also really into music but classical and opera, so he didn't listen to it with me haha.
I remember listening to Rapture by Blondie with my parents and brother. We thought the part about eating cars was hysterical. Just listening to the record and that song over and over, laughing and dancing to it.
