It's only 5 stairs but dammit we've been having a rough weekend and I had just told her to wait for daddy (because I didn't want to go downstairs by he had said he would) and she turned to me and fell. In what felt like slow motion and I couldn't get there. And then since its been a shit week for DH and I he yelled at me, I told him to fuck off and she was screaming for me and it was a mess.
Now she's crying about going to bed and I'm drinking a beer trying not to cry because today has just sucked and its ended worse and I don't want to be the adult.
(And she seemed fine after. Didn't cry for long, ran around a bit after, had some milk while demanding cartoons and whining this weekend is a normal thing but I'm feeling guilt and won't Google so if I'm supposed to watch for anything or not sleep tonight to listen to her breathe just in case please let me know. I feel like an awful parent right now. This is her worst fall, I should be glad but dammit.)

I wouldn't ignore concerns just because she played after. Kids can ignore feeling bad when they play. Not saying anything is wrong, just don't write off concerning symptoms.
I'm sorry . My kid fell down 4 steps a few weeks ago and did the slow motion roll. It was our backyard concrete stairs. I felt horrible! Our nurse said to watch for vomiting, lethargic behavior, pupils that are different sizes. She also told me to wake him up (just kinda jostle him so he moved or wiggled) every few hours overnight. I'm sorry. It sucks when you feel like you could/should have stopped it.

Thanks. This really helps give me something specific to watch for.

And yeah. That's pretty much it.
I mean, I'm not a nurse or Dr., so take that fwiw! Haha!! But, he hit the back of his head fairly hard, so that's why I called the Drs office. She also said to give some Tylenol or Motrin for soreness or a headache. Hopefully she is as good as new in the morning.
