I have been following Rebecca and her story for years, since Jacket was around, and her latest entries about Sandy break my heart. I am not jumping to conclusions to assume that Sandy=Ayanna right? Ugh that poor little girl. I cannot imagine what they must be going through daily.
Basically, Sandy's case is delayed yet again, and in the midst of that, Rebecca is posting about the current lawsuit against ACS and posting the stories of some of the plaintiffs/foster kids who have suffered by ACS not creating permanency for them. One of the plaintiffs is a little girl named Ayanna, who has been in foster care since Nov 2012, three days after she was born. She was taken away from her bio mother because her 19 month old sister was murdered by bio mother's boyfriend while she was pregnant with Ayanna and bio mother knew she and Ayanna's other sister were being abused and did nothing about it. Basically her bio parents suck and have no business ever looking at another child, yet Ayanna is still forced to have 2x weekly visits with the mother, during which she cries and refuses to leave her babysitter's side. Despite all this, her bio mother has not had her rights terminated, and Ayanna remains in limbo, even though the only family she's ever known is willing to adopt her and give her a stable home.
You can go to the blog to read Ayanna's full story, but be warned, it's awful and breaks my heart.
