I know you didn't share for kudos, but this is a such a wonderful thing you did and something his children (and probably their children) will always treasure.

What a lovely thing to do. A man I know with a small child died of a brain tumor and someone set up a facebook page where people could post thought and memories of him for the child to read as she gets older. I thought that was awesome (there are hundreds and hundreds of comments), but this is even more lovely. My heart breaks for you and your friend and his family.
Oh yay, I am so glad this happened in time! Thank you for your posts about it, and more so for doing it in the first place. This is very inspiring, and what a gift for the family!

You are an awesome friend. Your former student and his family sound great as well. I think this will be a video he will never forget, and hopefully, as he moves forward in his career, he will remember this, and be compassionate and caring in all he does.
