I'm in the nursing field as well and this just enrages me! I'm so sorry. It's extra shitty that in a profession primarily made up of women, there is zero compassion for pregnancy-related issues. Ugh.
I'm so fucking pissed for you Sally. I hope you can nail their asses to the wall.
Glad another job is in the works. I know you did hospice before and most agencies are always looking for part-time/PRN nurses, especially ones that will take evening/weekend call.
How firm are verbal offers in your industry? I think I would personally feel more comfortable accepting a written offer and disclosing then. Unless you think you could negotiate some time/benefits by telling them now.
I'm so sorry. It astounds me how many employers do shitty things like this. I hope your lawyer can help get you some justice.
I'd probably disclose your pregnancy after a written offer and try to negotiate your leave issues at that point. You have the most leverage when you haven't started yet.

That is some bullshit.
I would wait for a written offer then try to negotiate some leave. I hope this all works out in your favor in the end. So sorry you have to deal with this crap while feeling terrible.
I'm so sorry. I'm glad your standing up for your rights. If anything hopefully you may save another pg mother from the same outcome if anything comes from the lawyer. They need some education or some fear.

Ditto! I'm sorry this happened and happy to hear you have support lined up. Good luck with the new offer!
This is some bullshit - I'm so sorry. I agree with your H and PPs to wait until you get the offer in writing to disclose your pregnancy. Are you feeling any better?
Oh wow, I'm so sorry this happened. I admit I thought you might be paranoid the last time you posted because no one would fire someone for having an illness, right? Naive, party of me. I hope you find a better job soon - and that you feel better.
