Is the middle name for sure going to be John? Robert Jonathan is good, but Robert John is a little awkward IMO.
Yes, definitely John.
My son is Bryce John. I agree "John" sounds a little awkward. I always thought John was the nick-name for Jonathan, but his middle name is in honor of my late father in law who was simply "John". We wanted to stay true to his memory, so we stuck with it.
Nathan is our top boys name this time. I Think Ethan and Samuel would also sound nice with your name combo.
DS's name is Everett. He was almost Nolan. His middle name is Blake which I also liked for a first name. The other names I like are Adrian, Theodore, Logan and I can't remember the rest right now, haha.

Boy names are so hard! We just went through the whole name selection thing with DS, and my name taste sounds very similar to yours. Names that were at the top of my list were Felix (classic in that it has been around forever, and I love that it is not super common these days), Owen, and Matthew. DH was rooting for Benjamin, Alexander, and Sebastian.
Thanks for all the great suggestions! There are a lot of names mentioned that we can't use for various reasons (already taken by family/friends, bad associations, doesn't work with our last name, etc.), but I have added a few more to our list of potential names. Off to discuss!
We have a Jackson Anthony, Carter Fitzgerald and Andrew Michael so of course I'm partial to all of those All of their middle names are family names. I also really liked: Benjamin Theodore Calvin
There are so many good classic boy names out there! With so many of them you can stick with the longer name or give them a nickname.
My all time favorite is Andrew. DH isn't a fan so I will never get to use it.
Thomas Ryan William Daniel Benjamin Jack Sam
Too funny! I wanted Andrew for DS1 and DS2 and DH nixed it both times. When DS3 came along 6 years after DS2 I said that I really liked the name Andrew (and never mentioned the previous times he shot it down) and DH was like, yeah that's a good name. It wasn't until Andrew was born and named that I brought it up again, ha.
