We did, for the same reason as your old pedi. Our dr doesn't like to go a year without seeing the kids, checking teeth, etc. The timing coincided with her sleep issues so we probably would have gone in around 2.5 anyway.

My doctor's office had me schedule one and I thought it was a well child check until I got there and all they did was ask me if DS was talking and charge me a co-pay for a "developmental follow-up" appointment. Grrr. DS was already in speech therapy when we were at his 2 year well child appointment.

We have one next week. Our pedi said they will administer the Ages and Stages assessment at 2.5 (I may be wrong on the name of the assessment). We already did the MCHAT screening at 2 years. There was a possibility that we'd be moving out of state between his 2 year and this one so I asked if we should schedule a 2.5 year visit no matter where we ended up and she said yeah, it was a new AAP rec to have one. I never verified this so maybe it's a lie but we'll go because I do have some questions and would like to check in on his weight.
We just have a 2 and 3 year appt. DD3 will have her 2 year closer to 2.5 though. She broke her wrist at her bday party so her 2 year turned into an ER followup. I scheduled her 2 year in Sept when DD2 has a 6 year visit.
