I am another one who is torn on a lot of issues. However, I simply cannot vote for any party or candidate that does not support full legal equality. It is the trump card for me.
I wish the Republican party could disentagle itself from the Christian Right and decouple from this absurd push to "Christianize" our country. I am very passionate about issues such as legal access to abortion, full and equal legal rights for homosexuals, separation of church & state, etc.
I will never understand how the Republican party aligns itself with "less/smaller" government on so many issues, but yet wants the government to control and dictate personal freedoms and choices. Very inconsistent to me. Ideologically, I feel like the Libertarian party at least is consistent.
All that to say, yes I know who I am voting for, and it is Barack Obama.

I am not undecided - I will continue to support Obama.
I can't get too exicted this time though. I am pretty over politics and have lost most hope that anything is ever truly going to change. I thought if anyone would do it, Obama would, and he's having trouble getting anything done because of Congress and the general political climate in this country. I believe that he's truly a good person and I agree with most of his issues, so I have no qualms about supporting him.

In that same line of thinking, I wish the "evangelicals" could focus on issues other than gay marraige and abortion. Jesus was all about social justice and helping the poor. My folks are 'elders' in a very evangelical church and they proudly display an Obama sign on their lawn. One step at a time....

I couldn't agree more. Also, if they are really so passionate about reducing abortion, wouldn't they push more for things like distribution of birth control, comprehensive sex ed in public schools, and taking care of mother/baby after that unwanted baby is born?

Thank you! It is ABSOLUTELY mind boggling to me that Republicans can take an anti-abortion AND anti-contraception stance...but then simultaneously want to cut programs that support the poor and not see how interconnected the issues are, and thus how hypocritical their whole platform is.
Let's NOT teach people how not to get pregnant, and let's NOT give them access to BC to keep them from getting pregnant. Then, when they get pregnant, let's force them to have the child regardless of whether they want the child, can support the child, etc.
Then, THEN!, let's grumble about them being on government assistance and the 'free ride' they're getting on our dime...and try to cut back all the programs that help them keep a roof over their head and their kids fed. Oh yeah, and let's cut education spending while we're at it, so those children have little hope of being able to break the cycle of poverty that they were born into.
/end rant.
Pretty obvious where I stand I guess...but let me just add that there are I *think* 4 supreme court justices nearing 80 years old. The thought of 4 conservative supreme court appointments scares the shit out of me.
Social issues are become scary stuff right now. There is no way I would vote Republican in this climate. No way.
ITA. I just have a hard time choosing to support Obama and I don't know why. Given all the women's issues that have come up recently, it seems like I would be doing a disservice to vote Romney.
But then I think about our fight in Afghanistan and how closely tied I am to it...I don't know that I support Obama on that front.
I hate politics...
I am more closely tied to my uterus than anything else ;D
Interesting quiz. I got 96% Jill Stein, 88% Obama. I will not be voting for Jill Stein, as much as I may agree with her views. And 10% Romney, which is higher than I expected.

I don't know how any woman with a conscience and a modicum of intelligence can vote for this ticket, or any Republican right now. It would be doing all women a huge disservice.
Does anyone know the stances on federal workers and the federal budget? I am tied closely to my uterus but also my income, lol.
Part of what boggles my mind are these cuts to defense spending. And in many ways, I think it could go TOO far. To a point where missions won't be accomplished. That is very concerning for me.

I heard he wanted Clinton and she said "hell no" because she doesn't want to be associated with him and ruin any chances she has for her own bid in 4 years.
Yup, that's what I'd heard too, followed by since she said no, they're sticking with Biden.
