Softball tournament championship on Saturday!! Our team went 3-0 this weekend and since we were the #1 overall seed going in, that means we retain #1 position for the rest of the tournament. Woohoo! Should be a fun day with some really good games.
I was told by job #2 that I would hear something this week, we'll see.
Other than that, I have nothing planned. It's my last week off for the summer. No timetables, but I'm thinking of baking some stuff at some point, which I am looking forward to.
Busy Busy this week Today is DD #1 open house for school. We are going out after that to get her new shoes for school and some last minute school supplies. Tuesday is DD #2's open house. So we'll all go there straight after I get off work. Wednesday is the first day of school. Hooray! Both of my kids are going to be in school all day this year. Dh is very excited about this. He is also going to continue to look for employment during school hours. *fingers crossed.* Thursday and Friday will be getting back in to the swing of school routine. Saturday I have dinner with the in-laws. It'll be busy so hopefully it will go fast.

amaranth Yup At this point I'm pretty sure I'm out on 2 of them but you never know. I hate that higher ed hiring takes FOREVER so you get strung along for a long time.
Wednesday I go and bid on my position for the school year. Its a bit of a stressful day since I am at the bottom of the seniority list. After I'm getting margaritas with two of my teacher bffs who I haven't seen all summer. I think this weekend I want to make a fancy dinner for my H and then on Sunday I'm going to the movies with my two sisters. Should be a pretty decent week!
HoneySpider FX you get FABULOUS news from job #2 this week!
I'm sad my hubs will be out of town Thursday-Sunday. I will be doing a ton of deep cleaning while he's out of town. That will make me feel good and will be a good distraction.
I have to leave my house in about 10 minutes to drive up to take my stats final. I got a max of two hours of sleep last night and my stomach is pissed. I don't know if I've ever been this anxious about a test before, which is ridiculous because I've taken way more important tests.
Working all week, after today. Trying to catch up with my ridiculously long work to-do list. Weekend class all day Saturday and Sunday.
suzv That is interesting that you have to bid. Do you have to bid every year? are you just bidding for position, or for a school and position? We get notified every spring of where we will be. They can still adjust us between spring and the school year starting, but we are guaranteed jobs then. If they have a position eliminated, we are involuntarily transferred, but that happens before the spring notification. Then, you're guaranteed a job, but you have to wait until they get to your name on a list and have to choose from the list of district wide positions. I hope you get a job you are happy with!
Yep we have to bid every year. I work for an intermediate unit of the department of education so I have to bid on school district and position. Since I am low on seniority I can get bumped by pretty much anyone, but I've had the same position for a few years in a pretty undesirable district so I haven't had that problem yet. I teach ESL and our students can exit the program based off of test scores that do not come out until the end of July, which is why we have to wait until late in the summer to bid.

Daycare is having a picnic Wed night so that might be fun!

I'm too late to wish you good luck, but I hope it went well and your stomach calmed down. All through school I had the worst test anxiety that manifested in stomach issues. It's so hard to overcome.
I just want us all to be healthy. DD was so sick with HFM last week and now I have it, ugh.
B has an appt with an ENT to see if we can figure out is she is a candidate for ear tubes. I am looking forward to hopefully getting some answers.
Friday is our anniversary. I'm trying to convince H to call out of work and join B and I at the zoo. If he can't come, I'll take her anyway. We're going to try for a family dinner out.
