I'm just sick of mine, starrieskies. I've had it for 8 years and almost 100k miles. I want a new oneeeeee.
Mine is an '04. I just hit 298k on the odometer last week. Lol she's got to be getting tired. But she still runs and drives great, so I don't feel like it's an urgent situation. Yet. I should get at least one more year.
You are better than I am. Truthfully, my hood latch doesn't work and I'm sick of not being able to open and close my hood. Haha! I looked in to fixing it and the repair guy told me not to waste my money.

My car was a purely practical purchase 11 years ago. Good gas mileage, reliable, 4 doors, manual transmission, and a color that doesn't look awful if you don't wash it all the time. I didn't even get power windows because it was just one more thing to break.
I think I deserve something a little more fun this time.
Yes, chalupa is much fancier than I am, gault. I heard her horse takes FOUR diamond shoes. Mine just takes two. #slummingit
My horse is actually getting his four diamond shoes taken away tonight - he can take his newly barefoot ass out to the pasture, where he'll be living until I figure out how to completely chew-proof his stall, which he is bent on destroying.

I started a new cancer med, and I'm SERIOUSLY hoping I have more energy from it. The old one left me perpetually exhausted.
I'm starting to car shop and I have no idea what I want. Anyone have any suggestions? Looking for a wagon or a small SUV.
I hope the medication helps you.
Questions : Budget, are you a car person. What do you want this car/suv to do? Are you hauling around things, pets?
30k and under. Used. Trying to get under 30k miles. I have a 4 cylinder right now and it is anemic. I would like a V6 or a 4L turbo. Has to get decent gas mileage. Haul around dogs, bikes, horse stuff.

You have so many choices!!! I'd look for something that is at least 4 years old. You'll get the most bank for your buck. They've already depreciated as much as they will for a while. (I'm talking about German cars) and you'll still get lots of bells and whistles.
Personally I think I would go Japanese especially with what you want it for Suburu or Mazda. When maintenance needs to happen it won't cost you an arm and a leg. Our current BMW 550i costs a fortune when something goes screwy. It is ridiculous.

Jeep Wrangler -they keep their value really well Acura MDX
I can't handle the gas mileage. And, I found them to be near death traps in snowy driving with the short wheel base, lol. My XH had one.
I would then stick to a turbo 4. the modern turbos get pretty good mileage. I don't have to deal with snow. Here jeeps are for removing doors and pretending you are on a sunny safari while being in the city.

Ha. We have 2-3 months of sunny safari, 2-3 months of OMG! SUN! Open the sunroof! GAH, close the sunroof, it's too cold!, 2-3 months of admiring the pretty leaves through the closed windows and the rest of the time is snowy death trap weather.
Ugh, my airline for Peru just emailed me a "slight" schedule change...that will leave us in an airport for 24 hours and get home a full day later. LOLOLOL. NO. Our original itinerary is still being sold. WTF, AA?
Time to call them up! Our flight to Amsterdam then to Prague last year was changed and then it was delayed even more while at the airport. We missed our connection. Luckily Delta made a connection for us when we arrived and we made it to Prague...6 hours later than planned. 24 hours and a day later. I would be calling.

I'm going to lunch tomorrow with one of our largest suppliers. They're trying to get me to go to a conference in San Francisco next month. I think this sounds like a fabulous idea.

I took myself out to dinner and ended up not paying. I went to my favorite spot, fully intending to have a drink and a nosh. Ended up talking to a guy in town on business. He paid for me and the lady who joined us at the bar. It was a really lovely evening and completely unexpected.
Thanks starrieskies! And it turns out I share some friends with the lady who joined us. That's the second time I've had a "you know _____?!?!? Holy cow! " moment there.

My hatch latch is screwy. You need the magic touch to open it. My mechanic also told me not to waste my money, lol.
