I'm going to try to get down to the pool at least once this weekend. Other than that, PT exercises and maybe hit the track at some point. I'd like to try to walk a full mile.
Tonight is abs by #realmitch followed by a fun little metcon. Tomorrow is 4 miles. Sunday is rest, glorious rest.
ETA: Going to run on a paved trail tomorrow. The roads near my house are pretty hilly and I think I want something flatter for the long run. I'm excited!
Tomorrow is 15 miles. I also have a 5k in the evening (So I guess tomorrow is really 18.1 miles)...I really didn't plan that well.
The 5k is a Stadium Challenge. Basically, we run roughly half of it around the outside of our NFL stadium, and then the remaining mileage is spent running up & down the ramps within the stadium and ends with a lap around the field. Work paid for entries for both me and DH, so it seemed silly not to do it. I originally signed us up for the competitive division, but now that we have 15 miles in the morning, I think we might just run it for fun with some of my co-workers and take it easy. It's not like it would be a 5k PR (even on fresh legs, due to the ramps and the fact that it's 5,000*). I don't want either of us to be stupid & hurt ourselves. Plus, if we run it in one of the "just for fun" divisions, we can run earlier, which means we can finish earlier and go grab dinner and some beers.
Sunday will likely be some sort of slow recovery miles + upper body and core. Maybe some kayaking...we haven't decided yet.
I am headed to the running store to maybe purchase some trail shoes, and perhaps try them out tomorrow?! Eek. I've always used regular running shoes but feel like I need more for the AT. Any thoughts on whether they are worth it?
I am very excited to hang out with some lovely H&F ladies this w/e, including @vtcupcake who will be crushing a tri on Sunday.
Tomorrow - another weekly half marathon minimum distance run. This is number 10 in a row! That's going to beat my record I think! Yay! I'll do it around the roads here in Cheshire.

In one of my brighter moments, I signed up for a 24 hour race this weekend. I thought it was close by (within two-ish hours, over by Vail). When I was packing gear last night, I discovered that it's not in the town I thought it was, and it turns out it's 6.5 hours away. Well, shit.
Considered scrapping it and just eating my registration cost, but I just looked at their live tracker (http://www.aravaiparunning.com/ultracast-results/), and it appears I'm the only female, and only one of two people, signed up for the 24 hour race, so goddammit, I want my default 1st female award!
Goal is 60-70 miles. I need to do at LEAST 50, bare minimum, to feel ready for the 100, which is 5 weeks from today.
Have awesome weekends, everyone!
PS - If you look at the live tracker, it looks like my time has started already, but I'm signed up to run from 9am Saturday - 9am Sunday. We'll get it sorted out when I get there tomorrow.
ETA: Just emailed the RD just to make sure. There's no way in hell I'm driving 6.5 hours each way to find out that something got screwed up and I can't run. I'm sure it's fine, but I want to KNOW, dammit.

Doing Vino and the Beast obstacle course 5K. You run through vineyards and there's wine at the water stops and there's wine and beer tasting at the after party.
Ironman Mont Tremblant is on Sunday!! You can track me on their website. My bib is #410.
Woooooo! Good luck! Have an amazing day, and be the BAMF you are!
Thanks! I'm a little concerned about the weather. The past couple of days have been perfect, but the temperature forecast for Sunday keeps going up and is now at 86. Ugh! Tough to be ready for the heat when it's barely 70!
But, you can't pick your weather on race day! All I can control is my attitude!
I bought the Saucony Xodus. They are prettier and brighter in person. All the trail shoes I tried on felt so heavy. I'm not completely sold, but worth a try.
15 mile run tomorrow in the heat and humidity. I'm freaking out a little bit because the high temps tend to have much more of an effect on me than they do to most people. I blame my thyroid. Then parking it at someone's pool to watch the air and water show and otherwise sleep off the run for the rest of the day.

Good luck everyone!
Nothing for me this weekend. Just maybe getting back into some slow running. Still fighting knee/hip/IT band pain. Wineglass is only ....8??...weeks away. More or less.
