One of our own (not posting anymore - you know who you are) did a FB post that spurred me into action. As a DINK, school supplies just aren't something I think about regularly. Anyway, my sister-in-law works at a school that has a heavy lower income population. I am taking advantage of the last day of our sales tax-free holiday and picking up a few items from each grade's list the school posted.
To make it CEP, the grades that need crayons, in parenthesis all have Crayola preferred. Of course I'm picking up Crayola!
And finally, the items on the lists are interesting. For K, girls are supposed to bring baby wipes. The boys are supposed to bring disinfecting wipes. And an optional wish list item for many of the grades is Germ-X. Random activity for me.
ETA: Should this have gone in the @ randoms? See I don't even know!

The thread about the guy getting attacked by a bear spooked me out of going solo hiking this weekend (no grizzlies here, but this is prime black bear country). I'll wait until H can go with me.

I am so excited. Because we have to rewire the entire house, my MIL has basically just said 'yes' to every single change we want to make in the house, including knocking through walls, getting rid of her ugly conservatory and making it into part of an open-plan kitching/diner/living room which will be HUGE. And adding an extra bathrooom in the top floor. Wahoo! It's going to be amazing.

I got a wild hair and am painting our guest bathroom. But now the wild hair is gone and I wanna nap/read. And I've only got the edging done.
In we must have really screwed up our water karma in a past life news, they finally got the water working in the "new" house. And somehow in the last two days, the water in the laundry room got turned on and the laundry room, garage, and basement are now flooded.

I've been having a cook-a-thon of sorts, to prepare for school starting tomorrow. Amazon Pri.me Music has been providing 90s nostalgia, in the form of SWV, Joe and En Vogue. I think I'll break out Case and Donnell Jones next.
So far, I've made/prepped:
Sweet potato/chickpea burgers Egg muffins Vegetable Broth No-bake s'mores bars Lemon Chicken Green Beans One bag of red and sweet onions each One bag of multi-color peppers
Before the night is up, I plan to, plan being the operative word, make: strawberry chia seed jam Green smoothies Overnight oats
Moving is such a pain in the ass, but I swear I'm falling more in love with this house every day. Except for the bathrooms, which are microscopic and have no storage, it's perfect for us.
This weekend has worn me out. We had to go do more corvette driving today....which, I KNOW, diamond shoes and all, but SOFUCKINGHOT. I am glad my husband had a good time, though. If I never rode in that car again, I wouldn't be unhappy. It would be nice in September, but now. NO.

That is truly impressive. I really need to up my game on weekend food prep. Or, rather, get a game on weekend food prep. My life would be so much easier if I did.

This is my first time doing it. I hope to keep it up, but we'll see.
It's been a bit of a stress reliever. I've got a lot of nervous energy, between school starting this week and my sister finding out of she has cancer or not this week as well.

HUD's selling agent discovered the flooding today @noon. There were several inches of standing water in the basement ~8pm when DH and our agent went to the house. Other than calling our agent this afternoon to inform her, the selling agent has done nothing--who the hell walks into a house they are responsible for, finds a flood going on, and then just ignores it?
Guess I get to spend my day tomorrow trying to figure out how we file a formal complaint with HUD on this agent/agency (because WTeverlivingF?) and unless something major changes (like them replacing the walls, hardwood floors, and proving no mold growth--and reducing the price, a lot) we aren't buying a house this summer. Oh and it looks like someone intentionally turned the water on...
ate this for breakfast this morning. Doughnut, sunny side up egg, caramelized Spam, smashed tator tots, American cheese, blueberry bourbon jelly with an cheese dipping sauce.
