Happy Friday and a question

Happy Friday all! Anyone have big plans for the weekend? Today is my last day of maternity leave- I can't believe how quickly 13 weeks goes by.

Which brings me to my related question: any suggestions on where to find the best resume samples? I realized the other day that i've basically just been adding to my resume since my first job out of college, which has been fine for promotion, but maybe not so much once I look outside my department. I plan to start seriously looking once I get back to the real world, so I need to get it ready to go. Thanks!

No big plans here thankfully!!

Just a 15 mile run with scm1011 and pool time hopefully with melmel48 on Saturday. Sunday I have a 5k and just cleaning up my house a bit. We are under agreement and inspection is on Monday so just need to vacuum up all the dog hair again.

5kcandlesinthewind there was a post on MM a couple months back about a new resume format. My husband switched to it and got a job immediately, not sure if the resume format or not though. And I have to work on my resume as well this weekend.

I'm volunteering at a brewfest tomorrow. Woot!

I love looking over people's resumes, so I'd be happy to take a look. Be careful where you find resources online--many are out of date. I liked the tips from MM as bostonmichelle noted. I used some of the tips for my own resume.

drloretta which brew fest? There's one in our town this weekend. 

We are running some errands tomorrow followed by taking my parents to dinner as a thank you for house sitting, helping us move, and generally being awesome. It's a restaurant we've been to and they keep saying they need to try so we're surprising them. 

Sunday is bridesmaid dress shopping with FSIL. I'm not really looking forward to it because she can't make up her mind about what she wants. We're on a restrictive budget and we're trying to work out a dress to go with a pair of Vans sneakers. Ugh.

Happy weekend! I ran this morning and then the three of us walked downtown to grab some iced coffee and people watch. Tim is heading to the Sox game in a bit so Iris and I are on our own.

Tomorrow is his aunt's 90th birthday party which will be awesome.

Are you tired of your new role already?  It feels like it wasn't that long ago since you were promoted (maybe a couple of years?).  Good luck with the search!  I'm also happy to take a look once you've tweaked it if you like.

Thanks for the links, and for the offer to review my resume! It'll be 2 years in this role in November, but I've been in the department for 10 years, so I'm just ready for a change for a whole host of reasons.  I won't make the jump unless it's right, though, so I know it'll be a while before I find something.
