I booked an apartment in Rome ages ago in the Trastevere district but found a hotel that looks walking distance to lots of attractions and now I can't decide which is better. We are only there 2 nights so I want to maximize walkability and time.
Based on location, I'd pick the place in Trastevere. The last time I was in Rome I stayed near the Spanish Steps but I wish we had stayed in Trastevere. It's such a nice neighborhood and you've got a great pick of places to eat.

This exactly. The next time we're in Rome, that's where we'll stay.

We loved walking around in Trastevere. But it was a bit out of the way to get to. We visited with our kids and rented this apartment that was on the Campo de Fiori:
We loved it. It was on the 5th floor with no elevator but the view was amazing. We saw people strolling about on the square. We loved buying fresh fruits at the market and fresh bread at the bakery across the square. The restaurant downstairs was also really nice.
