I start field hockey tonight and I'm scared (not really). Every year gets more and more painful (I'm a goalie). I'm close to being the oldest person in my club and I'm pretty sure I'm the oldest goalie in the regular league at my level (I'm turning 47 in December). I love this sport and my club...but I'm going to HURT tomorrow as day one tends to be half conditioning and half training (which is also conditioning in a lot of ways). Glad I started doing some sprint training & running this summer! I'm hoping my weight training will help with the power of my kicks and help me get up from dives quicker.
My H and I have decided to go completely unplugged for our vacation in September (except for directions of course). I've never done this. Ever. So uhhh, I'm excited and terrified at the same time.
Also, if anyone has tips and tricks on keeping your knees healthy and pain free while running, I'll take them. I'm not experiencing pain per say, but I definitely feel sore.
I am fucking annoyed. Back in July i booked a trip through hotwire for august. Then canceled it within 24 hours because i booked the wrong plane. They have only refunded half my money. Now i am on the phone. Yes i know i should have checked earlier but i didn't.
Also i am supposed to get in 3 miles today before work but depending on how long this takes it might not happen
Eta after about 20 min on the phone they finally refunded the rest. Also did 2.5 miles had to cutnit slightly sgorter due to time.
DS started school yesterday. Which means if I want to get my morning runs in, I have to wake up at 4:45. I did that this morning. I was running into walls before I even walked out the door. I'm trying to decide if waking up at 4:45 is any better than not burning up during an after work run. Both are torture.

The important question is, where are you going!?!?!?

Hocking Hills. There's a cabin we've stayed in several times before and we're staying there. Canoeing, hiking, and apparently being unplugged

I'm annoyed at my gym, they are closed through Friday for maintenance. I wanted to get in two more pool workouts before my tri on Saturday and it means going to another location way out of the way. (I'm super spoiled my normal gym is right on the way home)
I did a running gait assessment yesterday at a local physical therapy clinic and it was really interesting. They did a front, back and side view with electrodes to see all the angles that my body is making. Plus checked strength and flexibility. Now I have a lot of homework - mostly exercises to strengthen my hips and calves. My hips are killing me today from them already!

Dude. I am in the same boat starting on Sunday. 4:45 to run in the morning or freaking hot at night (104* at 8PM tonight). It makes me want to cry.
My mom is having her knee replaced, and I just booked my plane ticket to go home for 10 days for her surgery/helping her and my dad.
I won't lie...I'm ridiculously excited about going home (to CT) in October. FALL!!!!!!!
I know how you feel--a friend got married in MN a few years so in late Sept. And I cried when I got off the train. I miss having an actual fall so much.

I know. How is it only 10:53? It feels like it should already by 2:00. I need this day to end so I can go crawl into bed and die. Die. I might have to just cave and run on the IL's dreadmill while DS tortures FIL in the afternoons. Then again, the dreadmill itself is torture.

I felt great on my 5 mile run this morning. Only problem is runger and how is it only just now noon??!
And I'm anxiously awaiting a call from the broker on my house from the inspection yesterday. She told me she'd call me in the morning. Well morning ended 2 minutes ago!
I'm super excited about my hike with friends this weekend. I'm concerned about DH though and hoping he doesn't ruin it. He HATES outdoor activities unless it is related to airsoft. He's also prone the headaches which he seems to always get when we are out having fun doing something I am enjoying.

runDisney just announced a Star Wars themed race weekend for WDW for 2016. My husband and I are already signed up for the one at Disneyland, so we're going to do this one too for the special medal.
OMG I friggin hate the Runners World webpage. All the damn video ads all running at the same damn time. WTF. I just want to read the article I'm reading without five ads running.
I started having hot flashes this weekend. They haven't let up. Holy shit, this is miserable.
I'm now debating if I should go to the doctor and have her run a full blood panel on me. There's a couple other things going on that I think might be worth it, but I also hate my doctor.

Oh! I have one more random.
I've been trying buy any available Ravenna 5s, but unfortunately I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel. I found a pair in my size and when they arrived yesterday, they were clearly used! And probably more than once! The bottoms weren't bad, but the uppers were definitely worn enough to mold to someone's feet. They found another pais and are shipping them to my local store and doing an exchange for me, so hopefully the next pair won't be used. If I wanted used shoes, I'd have gone to eBay!
