I grew up with a male pedi and have always had a male OB. I honestly prefer it that way for myself. At my OB, due to scheduling, I sometimes have to see different doctors. I felt more uncomfortable with the women. Something about my self esteem maybe? Logically I know my doctor is not judging me or my body, but I guess I felt that way when being seen by female doctors.
I had a male pedi, have a male PCP and had a male OB until pregnancy. I don't think gender matters. Just whoever you feel comfortable with. The boys pedi is male but there is a female doctor we see when he isn't available.

Hmm idk. A and H currently have a female pedi. I had a female family doctor growing up and my husband had a female doctor in adulthood. I will probably just let H lead, if he asks or wants a male doctor I will get him one.
Our pedi is a woman. I like to show her examples of women with jobs like doctors etc. we had a guy with poor bedside manner and switched to this woman who we live. I think either way is fine but as they get older they might be more comfortable with someone of the same sex. I generally prefer seeing female doctors myself and Dh prefers to see men.

Never really thought about it. Their pedi is male but his partner is female who we see sometimes so if it was an issue for her I would change. I see a male OB who I adore so gender is obviously not an issue for me.
I remember feeling a little weird going to see my male pedi when I was young. He'd peek at my stuff down there and it always felt creepy even though my mom was in the room. I dunno maybe I'm weird. I have a different male OBGYN now and totally love him and don't feel uncomfortable at all.
Hmm. I always saw a female pedi, but my OB has always been male. I'm ok with that. Our pedi office is a husband and wife. We usually see a PA who is female, but we've seen both the husband and wife as well (wife usually does the little and the husband does the older kids) I love love love everyone I've ever seen there and A gets excited when she gets to see Dr Greg. I can see a boy being more comfortable with a male as they got older, but I don't know
I had a male pedi until puberty and then I didn't feel comfortable with it (not because of the doctor! He was great!) I think you should ask Dylan how he feels. It's totally legitimate for a kid to feel more comfortable with a same sex doctor, especially as they get older. Right now Jamie has a female

The kids have a female pedi. However, the last two years I have asked B before I scheduled his appointment if he wanted L or if he wanted me to find him a male pedi (and I know who I would request...we saw him when getting B's stitches out and he was good about getting kids to relax and have a good appointment).

Growing up, I had a male doctor, and my first pelvic exam was done by him. I wasn't uncomfortable with him at any point. He was the only doctor I had ever had, though. Zoe's pediatrician is female.

My SIL has older boys and it was one of her recommendations when we were interviewing pediatricians. We also took age in consideration because I wanted W to have the same doctor through his teens, if possible.
Hmm I hadn't thought of this. Our pedi is a male but the practice has both so I wonder if when the time comes I can just have a different pedi for each kid ... I'm sure they get that request a lot as the kids get older.
The female pedi that we had used since W was born recently left the practice and a new male pedi took over. When we went for W's 3y appt, we were scheduled with the male. I'll probably stick with him as W's primary, although the other pedi that owns the practice is a female, is awesome and has been consistently been rated as a top doctor in my area.
As an adult, I've mostly seen female OBs/Midwives, however, there is a male midwife in my practice. He was actually the one that I got for W's delivery and quite frankly, at that point, I was in the mindset of 'whoever can help get this kid out of me is welcome to be in the room.'
We didn't go to the pedi much when I was a kid, but I think the one that we did see was a male.
Ours changes from visit to visit. Our "official" pediatrician is a man (it's actually Jeff's cousin) but we love all of the doctors at the practice and just get in with whoever has availability when we need it. I had a male pediatrician and it never bothered me as a child, but I could see where a boy might get uncomfortable during the teste check.
I had a male pediatrician growing up, and I have no recollection of ever feeling uncomfortable. I didn't have a pelvic until I went to college and I saw a female Dr at the health clinic. I always saw female NP's for my gyno needs until I had a bad PAP and then I got assigned to a male OBGYN. I was a little weird about it at first but then I ended up loving him and he delivered Logan.
Our Pedi practice has both male and female doctors, so if it's a concern when the time comes I can just request a male doc.
Different people all the time. I had Medicare as a young child, till like 5 then my dad got a business we got off welfare lost Medicare and I never went to the doctor until I got food poisoning as a teen.

Our pedi is a male. There are also females in the practice though. I usually don't consider sex though when seeking medical attention until recently.
My OB I have both a male and a female. However I want to drop the male because he said something to me that pissed me off at my PP visit. Some shit you can't understand if you aren't a woman that just gave birth.
Our pedi is male and it is something we considered when choosing a pedi. I had a male pedi growing up and I remember when I was a teen I always felt a little weird even when my mom was with me at appointments. My OB and GP are female and I feel much more comfortable with them.
