I've got another awkward hair phase going on, and I'm not sure how to fix it.
I'm not a big fan of how the front and sides look now, and it's also getting a little mullet-y in the back. I don't know if it would be better to get it cut or to figure out some way of pinning it back until the front and sides are longer.

Didn't you say the other day that you wanted to grow it long again? If that's still your goal I'd try to stick this out somehow. Would a headband or clip or such do anything to help?
HoneySpider - I do want to continue to grow it out. I guess I just don't remember how to? Like, am I supposed to get it cut into different styles as it grows, or wait until it's long to figure out how I want it to be styled? I feel like clips would be a good thing, but I honestly have no idea what kind I should buy or how to use them.

I would probably still cut it just to get some style but try not to take too much off. I think cutting your hair is actually supposed to make it grow faster because you get rid of the dead ends and the healthy stuff grows. Or something like that
I don't know, I'm not very good with hair. My styles are basically down or in a ponytail.
I am useless. I hate growing out hair, so I basically never cut it. I'm pretty sure that while it is in an awkward stage now, just two to three months will have it back to an intentional looking length with new style opportunities. I'd probably not touch it at all until then.
I have grown out a pixie many times. I think your hair looks cute! I would let it keep growing another 4 months or so and re-evaluate. Once it gets a bit longer it will have more of a style.
@moonbeam - So the mullet in the back should even itself out if I leave it alone? Any suggestions on clips that work well during the grow out stage? I don't like headbands because they give me a headache, but I would like to be able to pull it back out of my face a bit.
katespade I found that eventually the sides get long enough to look like face-framing layers that were cut that way on purpose. I don't use headbands either, since they interfere with my glasses. I'm also not great with clips. My hair doesn't look that good without blow-drying, and the same is true for the growing-out pixie, but with blow-drying for more fullness it looked much better.
