my anxiety about guns killing me or my loved ones just gets worse all the time. It's the biggest downside to living here in the US.
Whenever another gun death happens I think of the kids killed in sandy hook and it makes me cry all over again. WHY WON'T ANYBODY DO SOMETHING TO FIX THIS GUN PROBLEM

laurack, I do the same thing in regards to Sandy Hook. My anxiety is going through the roof. It's maddening that we can't keep our loved ones safe, no matter what we do.
rubber pants, that he did that is just unfathomable.

I feel this way too. I am so full of anxiety for my children. I wish we could leave the country sometimes but our family is all here. Ugh it just makes me ill.
I don't even know what to say anymore. Our country has a major problem. This is the second that I know of in a week. There was also a man shot in NYC in the last week in a similar scenario of a disgruntled worker.

This is so horrific.
I was reading a buzzfeed article about it and they had a video up of the woman's face when the man opened fire and I closed out right away. Why the fuck would they post that?! It's horrible enough, but to put a video of that up? No. Just no.
I found out about this when I got home. Today I practiced lockdown procedures with my kids, and one of the new parts of the procedures what to do if someone gets in the room. So I had to talk to my kids about what to do if "the worst should happen." It's never hit me harder that, should someone come into my classroom, I will be the first to die.
But guns are definitely not the problem. The ignorance is scary. I haven't gotten to catch up, but having lived in that area, we definitely have been to Smith. Mtn Lake a lot. So sad
